The gift shop sells religious, faith-based and inspirational gifts such as rosaries, medals, crucifixes, crucifixes, statues, books and other gifts including angels and bibles.

You can also find brands like Swarovski and products in Bethlehem (Holy Land). The gift shop offers a large selection of christening, wedding, communion, confirmation and Irish gifts. Throughout the year, the gift shop hosts monthly specials, Father Baker Day (July) and Our Lady of Victory Feast Day (October).
You'll find various special Father Baker and Mother of Victory items, as well as lots of items about St. Christopher, St. Michael, St. Peregrine, St. Gerard, St. Jew and more. From time to time, the gift shop offers raffles for valuable gift items, most recently a Swarovski crystal rosary and nativity scene, and an annual raffle for handmade children's items.

The expansive windows of the National Shrine's gift shop and bookstore display samples of the wide range of items available to pilgrims and visitors. Amy Maloney, who has operated National Shrine Stores for a decade, is responsible for the selection of Marian jewelry, crucifixes, religious art, rosaries, books and more for basilica visitors from near and far.
Today, Amy gives us a taste of what it's like to work at the basilica and her top recommendations for what to do and see when you visit. The mission of the National Shrine Shops is to support the mission of the Basilica in our relationship with pilgrims and visitors to make their visit as pleasant as possible.

As we offer Catholic gifts and books from around the world, we strive to continue the beautiful presentation of the Basilica. And in addition to the classic range, goods must touch someone here to become part of Shop's range. We test new items to get feedback from our audience and make decisions based on what they like.
This summer we're selling Catholic socks for the whole family - featuring favorite saints, including Our Lady of Guadalupe, John Paul II, St. Teresa of Calcutta and others. These socks give a whole new dimension to the explanation in Romans 10:15: "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!"
How Do You Choose What To Feature In The National Shrine Shops, And What Are Some Fun/Unusual Items Being Sold This Summer?
As for other fun items, one of my new favorites is a mug that says, "Good morning this is God - I'll take care of all your problems today." Who doesn't want that? The National Shrine Bookstore has a wide variety of books, from works of philosophy, children's books, and even piano books!
I would recommend The One Minute Aquinas, which provides quick answers to basic questions. CS We also offer a wide range of works by Lewis, G.K. Chesterton and J.R.R. Tolkien. For children, I recommend the book Jesus and the 12 Things He Did, the piano book Songs of Joy (if the parents can tolerate it!), and some updated Our Father and Hail Mary illustrated paintings.
The Great Upper Church is a must see, along with the Blessed Sacrament Chapel and Our Lady of Guadalupe and Mother of Sorrows, and of course the Trinity Dome. Under the basilica or on the crypt level, try to make time for the crypt church and the Africa Our Mother and Lourdes chapels, each of which are very intimate, prayerful and quiet spaces located on the crypt level.

I have many favorites in the basilica here, but our Mother of Africa Chapel is my number one. This church speaks to me in many ways, the beauty of the mother and child, the artwork on the gate (tree of life) and the meaning of the struggle of African people and people around the world.

I recommend that those interested in visiting attend the fair if possible. The masses at the festivals are really special, but even the daily mass here at the National Shrine really touches the heart and soul. Since working here, my faith has been strengthened by a deep devotion to Mary. Every day when I enter the Basilica, I greet our Blessed Mother and say: Mary, Mother of God, I pray through you to you and your Son. I know her supremely as a mother, a daughter, a woman, a protector.
