How To Gift Minecraft To Someone In A Different Country - Sending gifts to people in other cultures requires extra consideration; you want to pay attention to any cultural differences, taboos or expectations. But it's also a chance to blow people away without spending tons of money. Multicultural business consultant Dean Foster advises on exceptional international gift giving in a Medium post;

We talked about some dos and don'ts. The best thing you can give, Foster Lifehacker says, is something locally made that's rare or expensive. You can usually win with local food or drink: cheese, wine, maple syrup, hot sauce. Or find a food that is particularly valued in the host culture;

Foster writes on Medium that oranges from Florida or California make great gifts in Japan. Other local gifts include items for local cultural institutions, such as sports teams, or non-mass-produced toys or clothing. If you're sending something to Shanghai, it's less attractive if it says "Made in China".

So look for something custom made. It's better to send something small that's truly unique than something that anyone can order online if they just have enough money. On the side of caution, you should avoid cultural taboos, writes Foster. Unless you know the recipient doesn't care, so send a gift of alcohol to people living in a predominantly Muslim culture, or leather goods to people in a Hindu culture.

He also warned about more specific taboos, such as handing over a watch in China. So whatever you send, quickly check that it doesn't make sense to the recipient. Also, avoid religious gifts unless you are sure the recipient will be comfortable with them. This is especially true when you give to people in the United States.

If you're sending a gift to a US recipient from another country, you can relax: Foster told Lifehacker that the US has one of the most permissive cultures when it comes to gift giving. However, we recommend checking the recipient's eating habits, such as vegetarianism.

And as inconsistent as it may seem, fur is more controversial than leather in the United States. Finally, check local delivery times and holidays. If you're sending a gift from Japan to the U.S., Foster has a caveat: Unlike the Japanese postal service, which welcomes the New Year and delivers every January 1, the USPS doesn't open that day.

Friends have to open a server for you to connect to their world, or you create one and start together. There are utilities for using the server on a PC, as well as a (separately) paid application that can be used on iOS to host the server.

You can use this application on your home computer to open a server that your friends can connect to. This requires that you have a stable internet connection (preferably a static IP address, although you can use a dynamic DNS service) and don't forget to log off your computer when you want to play.

It is quite easy to install and there is a guide on the project website to help you. The documentation is quite detailed and the app is free. I can't say much about this, but I've heard it's pretty simple to use. Saves you having a running PC, but performance drops if you're playing on the same device you're running Minecraft PE on (if that's even possible?).

Either way, it won't help unless your friends are already using it. And to be fair, they probably won't tell you how to connect. There doesn't seem to be a way to import existing worlds into either of these apps. If it doesn't connect, make sure you don't get 10.0.0.1 IP or short IPs, you need a long ip, for example 12.35.28.56.78 You can subscribe to this RSS feed by copying and pasting this URL into the RSS feed
