Christmas Gift Card Holder Tutorial
All it takes is brain measurements to make sure the gift card fits. So I helped you out and gave you a free pattern so you don't have to do some funny math when cutting the fabric. Oh, did I mention this gift card holder is for yourself?

All you need are two matching 5 x 6 inch prints, preferably Christmas themed. and a solid interface of the same size and movies if you will. Now let me show you how to sew your gift card envelope. But you can also use Plon Deco Fuse or Vilene S520, I must say, especially if you are just starting your sewing journey. Outside and lining, you can opt for a thin layer like the Pellon SF101 Shape Flex or the Vilene G700—or just throw them away. Easy! But I digress. Supplies To Make The Christmas Gift Card Holder:
1 piece, 1 lining (mirror!) and 1 piece of fusible binder - cut seam allowances to reduce bulk: grab the tape and fold it in half. Then pin it to the right (front!) side of the outside where I placed the triangle mark on the freeform.
This will be the top of the Christmas gift card holder. Use a safety pin to attach the rest of the ribbon to the middle of the fabric piece to keep it from falling off. Now place the outside and lining together so all edges match and sew around, leaving a pivot hole at the bottom. Note: Saw the flip hole?

It's on the opposite side of the ribbon attachment. (The best place for this!) Turn right off and press. Make sure the unfinished edge at the opening is folded in and creates a straight line: the top is not sewn yet. First you have to fold it in half, like this: tie a bow, tuck the gift card inside.

It's a lot of fun, and like all Damjana tutorials: it's easy to make and useful, and people love to receive it as a gift. I made mine from matching fabric in my keychain /lanyard tutorial.
