Stephen Walker, also known as u/FlipDemStocks on Reddit, posted on the r/funny subreddit about certain cake decorating instructions he left out when ordering a cake from a store bakery.

There is no way the business can survive. Just like Uber… “one day we will make a profit” I hate doordash claims that payment is “free” if you use GC. Is GC free? Not at all! I have a few months left on my CSR DashPass membership...I'm curious if they are considering extending it.
If so, it sounds like a good deal. There are quite a few good restaurants around us that participate in DD and Caviar and it's not too difficult to take advantage of them during the year. If DD benefits come out after two years of freebies... forget it.
DoorDash often combines our delivery with someone else's, and we are always the last to deliver. Chase benefits are the only reason we use DD, so we'll give UberEats and Grubhub a chance when they're gone. Try entering another Chase card as a payment method.

I recently downgraded my CSR and signed up for a new Chase card and that gave me another free year. If it was Uber / ubereats they would jump on it. Don't you mean you can't use the gift card and discount code in the same order?
The article says otherwise, but I couldn't combine the two. DoorDash Gift Cards add credit to your account that can later be used to pay for your order despite the promo. So gc can be combined with a discount code, but not directly. Can you use DD GC and get DashPass benefits from your Chase card?
DoorDash and others have a 35% bonus on purchases made directly from available restaurants, so it's great to have additional discounts in your DoorDash account. I'm not sure where you get 35% from. In my experience, it is 10-15% more. In some places, it does not exceed their menu price.

Granted, you add a decent percentage to the tip, but the time savings is worth it to me. It all depends on the restaurant. Restaurants set their own prices, not DD. I've seen maybe 10% 30% over menu price, 50% 15-20% over menu price, 30% 5-10% over menu price and 10% of restaurants matching their regular menu price.
