Target Gift Cards At Kroger
Target Gift Cards At Kroger - KATY, Texas - Some Kroger shoppers are frustrated that the gift cards they bought as Christmas gifts didn't work out when their loved ones tried to redeem them. Allison Ormand said she bought several gift cards, including Visa, Amazon and a three-pack of $20 Xbox cards. When her son tried to use them on Christmas morning, they were told the cards were "not valid". "It was a bit of a shame," Ormand said. "We're trying to explain that Santa has to activate the cards from the North Pole - maybe the elf fell asleep at his job." On the Ormand Community Facebook page, another woman said her Ulta gift card was also not activated. RELATED: Nightmare Before Christmas: Kroger's credit card machines fail, causing insanely long lines On the day the mall's credit card systems went down, Allison used cash — by accident. "The sale could have been completed if the card hadn't been activated - that was strange," Ormand said. She said she called Visa and Amazon customer service and they were able to activate the gift cards. But she said Microsoft couldn't activate the Xbox cards in the multipack because the barcode on the package didn't link to the individual cards inside. Ormand then tried to call Gift Card Mall, the third-party service that packaged the gift cards, which also told her it could not activate them. "I hadn't thought about this issue before, but I don't think I'll ever buy a gift card package again," Ormand said. Kroger initially told Ormand it could not activate the cards and gave her an 800 number to file a claim for a possible refund. But late Friday afternoon, Ormand said Kroger contacted her to say it expected a refund within the next seven days. KHOU reached out to Kroger to see if faulty credit card systems played a role in the problem, and if they have any advice for customers in this situation. To use a gift card, you must add a credit or debit card at checkout, even if the gift card fully covers the entire purchase. Note: Instacart charges all items added during checkout or after checkout from your gift card, unless the amount exceeds the authorization. If the total order amount, including items, exceeds the authorization hold, the credit or debit card on file will be charged, even if you have sufficient funds on the gift card to cover the additional items. Also, if the total amount of your order after adding items exceeds the amount stated on the gift card, we will charge the difference from the credit or debit card you entered at checkout. While processing orders, we temporarily suspend authorization of your gift card for an amount slightly greater than the estimated order amount. This slight difference accounts for possible changes in the final total due to special requests, added items, items exchanged for a different price, and the actual weight of the items. If the authorization hold exceeds the amount on the gift card, we charge the credit or debit card you entered at checkout for the difference. Your gift card and/or credit or debit card will only be charged for the full amount of items delivered to you. Log in to help get the help you need fast.
