A few days later, when I checked out at Target.com, I tried to pay and noticed that the gift card was no longer in my account. I tried to enter the number and access code, but after several attempts, I realized that the balance has been exhausted.

I contacted Target and spoke with a few gift card experts. They took all my information and told me that the remaining balance of $184 was spent in Goodyear, Ariz. When 72 hours passed, I called Target customer support. The representative told me that I would not receive a replacement card because "leaders" had decided that I could sell gift cards.
The decision is final. And I can't do anything else. That was all the information that was given to me. I asked if they could trace if my account was hacked or logged in from somewhere else since that was the only place where my gift card number was stored.
There is no other way that anyone will be able to get the number because I bought a card with a security seal covering the code. Target representatives told me that the leadership team has all the tools and will take all these factors into their decisions.
The Resolution
At this point, I can't speak because I feel like I'm being told that I'm a fraud and I'm guilty when I've done nothing wrong. Also, I thought I would be treated as a long time customer. Mine is $184, which is a lot of money for a frugal person like me.

The endless flow, delays and arbitrary decisions do not seem to be the same company that "carries out the needs and potential fuel" of the customer, as the press release promises. If anything, the target has fulfilled his need to make a profit and fuel your anger.

At least, Target can honor its word to get back to you within 72 hours, even if the answer is "no." I noticed that you contacted a lower level employee at Target, who simply denied your request again for their company. You can extend your case to a more senior person.

A Target representative said it reviewed the security footage from its store and confirmed that you did not use the gift card.
