Dear Dr. Mary Herring is rarely seen in the pulpit of black Baptist churches in North Central Florida. When she was appointed pastor of Dayspring Baptist Church in 2008, she may have been the only female pastor of a black Baptist church in the area.
Although rare, he had a fork in Dayspring at 1945 NE Eighth Ave. and led the church in growth in all dimensions, including spirituality, building space and social impact. Herring and her husband, Elder Lenton "Bob" Herring, were honored Sunday during a service celebrating their 15th anniversary as leaders of the church.

Shepherds are selfless in the community, he said. "They are servants," said Feathers. "They serve year-round. Even through the pandemic, they've learned how to stay in touch with you on Zoom. In the middle of the night, your pastor will pick up the phone. If you don't go to church, they'll still hug you."
Keep preaching the word, and the word will save people," Feathers said. “The word brings light, the word gives hope. Preach with purpose, preach with meaning, preach with power. ” Encouraging Herring to continue preaching and leading, he urged Dayspring members to continue walking with Herring and living like Christ.
