While books are the main focus of the store, other sections are dedicated to the sacraments, including one for baptism, which presents various gifts for parents and babies, and another dedicated to confirmation, which offers prayer books and other materials to guide Catholic adults.
A section dedicated to Mary includes many statues of Our Lady in various sizes and styles, as well as prayer books, novenas, scholarly works on the Virgin and a wide selection of rosaries. Some of the best-selling items are coffee mugs, prayer cards and other souvenirs that visitors can pick up on their way home after visiting the area, Tom said. "The store is a great asset to all of our visitors because now they have a place to find something to remember their encounter with us," Smith pointed out.

The Peters wish to offer convenient store hours for visitors before, during and after the consecration of Christ Cathedral on July 17. The store is currently open from 10am to 5pm seven days a week, but evening operations are also being considered. "We're so excited about the cathedral dedication because of the big milestones that will come when it's finally done, and secondly, the store's holiday traffic," Smith said.
“Having the store open before the dedication was great for both the customers and us,” he continued. “I get many comments from visitors and cathedral staff throughout the day about how happy they are to finally have a shop here. It is very inspiring for all of us to know that we are serving a real need for our faith community.”
