Set in the museum of magic, it is not surprising that the Devil's Due side quest has its share of seemingly unexpected horrors. Located west of Salem, the Museum of Witchcraft once housed artifacts and memorabilia related to the sordid events of the Salem witch trials.
During Sole Survivor, however, the museum is the site of a bloody massacre. After you get a little advice about the strange happenings in the museum, you can plan a trip to the place. As you piece together what's going on here, you're faced with a harrowing mission, complete with falling footsteps, inexplicable screams, bleak dioramas, and unexpected audio cues to shake you up.

Devil's Due will make you feel like more than a hunter as you follow what happened in the museum and the now-dead team that came before you. Although a fairly straightforward quest that poses no real danger to you, Coyotes is still there in terms of treasure factor with its gritty characters, mysterious disappearances, and disturbing trends.
According to Captain Parker, an alarming number of refugees began to disappear without a trace. There seems to be no pattern except that most were associated with two local carts, Dermont, and Saint James. With some bribes (or threats) here and there, you can get very incriminating evidence against both men.
Look for these signs to reveal that scavengers are selling missing refugees to human traffickers. Worse, the men seem to make most of the money they sell the girls, and Dermont has his hands full, preventing Saint James from getting "samples of the thing." This may be one of those times when you should be justified in pulling the big iron.

If liminal space scares you, then following the Cold Case side quest in Fallout 76 will do it for you. The quest starts after you meet the robot girl Miss Annie at the Wavy Willard Water Park. He shares that he has been looking for his part, Freddy, for a very long time.
Our Little Secret - Fallout 3
As you begin to search for any clues to his fortune, you soon find yourself uncovering a kidnapping case and dealing with hostile wolves and super mutants, including Mad Dog Malone. The various places where the water park was abandoned and the controversy that surrounded it during its tenure really make this case annoying.
The whole park is made with vivid colors and characters that are part of these exciting and scary attractions, except that it can be really dangerous if you are attacked. While the Vault Dweller receives some rewards for completing this quest, it is unclear whether the ending is truly happy for Miss Annie or little Freddy.
It is a fascinating quest that, in itself, is not necessarily scary. The Brotherhood of Steel just requires you to clean up some of the commonwealth's poor wells. However, this quest becomes even more terrifying when you are sent to the Dunwich Borers. Every aspect of this place is intended to make your skin crawl, from the narrow passages filled with the sounds of the ghosts of the story and the remains of a cult that aims to summon the great horrors that await them.
Even turning on the light is punished by sending more enemies your way. With a name like Necropolis, you know things aren't going to be happy and lively. Before Bakersfield, Necropolis is now a city of flowers. When the Resident Vault comes into the picture, the super mutants control the water supply in the aptly named Watershed.
