I'm not sure if the gift shop is owned by the Hoh Rainforest; but the lady working there was so patient with difficult customers ahead of me in line. She was helpful and knowledgeable about the rainforest itself. We have selected a few items we were interested in that will help fund the Hoh Rain Forest Fund.
Thank you This was the most beautiful place to visit. We hiked the Hole of Moss Trail and the Spruce Nature Trails. Both tracks were short and had low altitude. I would recommend both, make sure you get your picture under the moss hall walkway arch!

If you come in the winter season, be aware that the ranger station does not open until 10am. We had to buy a pass and wait until 10 to get it. We hiked 6 miles round trip on the Hoch River Trail and it was beautiful.

At 3 miles you approach a waterfall and do a little riverside stroll with great picnic spots along the way. This is a magical place. I would have loved to make it a longer day or even backpack to go camping, but that wasn't the plan for this trip.
We were blessed with sunny and 50 degree weather in the middle of February. We took our kids and they loved climbing the trees and exploring the trials. It's a very easy walk through this area and there are some fun surprises throughout. The only downside is that if you're in Olympic National Park for a while, it's not much different from anywhere else in the area.
Although we enjoyed it, we probably won't drive here again. So beautiful and unique with all the moss and greenery here. He loved the shapes the trees made with the different mosses. We were lucky enough to be here on a sunny day so the light shining through the forest was amazing.

Nice fast 3/4 loop hike if you are doing Moss Hall. Recommended We loved Hoh! We were the first ones here early in the morning and it was magical to have the whole forest to ourselves. We did the shorter tour, the Hall of Moss- So green and vibrant, with the sun shining behind the moss- beautiful!!
It is interesting to learn about nurse logs and walk among these giant trees! Amazing experience! Be sure to keep an eye out for wildlife as you drive into the rainforest - we saw a huge herd of Roosevelt Elk walking along the road and an adorable little fox!
