Metabank Gift Cards - This company is a scam. THEY ARE USING Target who don't seem to care about their customers when they sell these "rogue" companies to enrich themselves. I have filed numerous complaints with Target and none have been acted upon. Target customer service said, "There's nothing we can do about it."

What a terrible reaction. I will never buy something "off target" again. I am thinking of going to a competitor to shop for ANYTHING!!!! I would give this company ZERO stars if I could... It's crazy to me that the IRS works with this company to issue incentive cards.
I am trying to claim my 2021 tax credit but I have received my third payment! After telling them I never got it, they sent me to metabank after about four months of back and forth and I'm STILL trying to get someone. It's eight months later.
I can't get a live person on the phone to get a replacement card. I called and used the automated system to reissue a new card and it's been months and I haven't received anything. The IRS knows nothing. The money network knows nothing. I can't talk to anyone in meta-bank EVER.

But the IRS doesn't have a problem with withdrawals does it? THIS IS COW He already hates this company. I got a gift card for my birthday and when I finally used it a few weeks later it was declined. Turns out the balance has been used.

How can this happen when I just opened it? No one answers the customer service hotline and they keep you waiting for endless periods. MetaBank is a complete scam. It's a scam!!! My 89 year old mother bought me a birthday gift card and is on a limited income.
When I go to use the card… dead. I filed a dispute and called 8 times to the person who gave me a chance. No resolution. It's a scam! I just want to know how this scumbag can continue to do business, rob people, do illegal things, not communicate with anyone.
All they do is send you in a circle circle circle circle you are on the phone for 4 hours. These people are absolute bastards and I don't understand how in the world they can exist but that tells you how welcome the government is in America when you call them Half of them can't speak English but they can control the finances of the United States of America

great I don't think I'll see the day our government allows foreigners to control our finances, especially when half of them can't speak English. Welcome to America!! When I was growing up in the 60s, 70s and 80s. That's unheard of. I wish Ronald Reagan was still here, God bless him and Nancy.
Right now my wife is trying to transfer money to another bank they say it will take 16 days to get it. I really don't understand this, this is the welfare of the people, this is their finances. How can you just hold someone's money for 16 days for no apparent reason.

They did the same thing to me and I had to wait 120 days to get the $860 transferred to another bank. I had to wait 120 days for no reason to get my money from them. They had no reason to hold my money for 4 months but they did and let it go.
Not that it matters but this is rubbish I read this review and many others like it I just don't understand how they get away with it. I wish someone would tell me Recently (03/15/23) I bought 2 Visa gift cards at Target, issued by MetaBank.
What Merchant Category Code Is Used?
One for $200.00 and the other for $100.00. On 03/17/2023 I went to MetaBank's MyBalanceNow.com to set up a 4 digit code before handing over the card to my grandson. I was surprised to see that the unused card had a balance of $74.00 on the $200 card and $2.23 on the $100 card.
In addition, the $200 card was "PATCHED" with calling instructions. I have made 8 calls in the last 3 days. Every time I've been on the phone for 20+ minutes hearing repeated excuses and "an assistant will be with you shortly". After more than 20 minutes the call goes silent every time.
MetaBank is a complete scam. Apparently a fake bank. They are tasked with using any funds you put on one of their gift cards. Customer service tries to get more of your personal information when you contact them with a complaint. Refusal to provide them with additional personal information results in them being suspended again and in an endless loop of challenges.

Never buy a card with the METABANK or BLACKHAWK chain printed on the back of the card! Meta Bank Gift Card, Scam? I can't register the card online. Calling Meta customer service is another story. They wanted a copy of my driver's license faxed to them along with other personal information that I was uncomfortable giving to strangers.

I have been receiving and using gift cards for several years without any problems. I have been with them since 2017 and I own it!!!! Inexplicable unauthorized merchant withdraws money from my account and no further investigation! Rude customer service! Their servers are not protected enough!
I had to close a lot of debit cards, I'm done! Withdraw all my money today and switch my direct deposit to another financial institution! They took 500 dollars from my federal return that it was for tax return fees and another 300 was for other fees, this is ridiculous, if I had known all this I would not have gone with them.
I would rate zero if I could. My 81 year old mother bought a card 3 months ago with $150 on it. When we activated it, it was only $80. They told us she was trying to activate the card (which my mom didn't know how to do).
The transport service people were not helpful and kept talking about the payment they owed. It's a big scam and don't use it. Unfortunately, it's almost impossible to get a real human customer service representative on the phone. If you are patient enough to wait almost an hour to meet someone in person, they will put you on hold again to "file a dispute".
