The news comes a week after a memo from Lyft's new CEO, David Risher, confirming that the company will be laying off employees. Shares of Lyft rose 1.5% on Thursday. The company has around 4,000 employees and has decreased by 13% in November 2022. Risher's term as CEO began at the beginning of April.
He has emphasized the need to streamline operations and return to "better meeting the needs of cars and drivers" in employee communications and public messaging. Lyft co-founders Logan Green and John Zimmer remain on the company's board, having led the company through its 2019 public offering and subsequent expansion.
The company's stock has never risen above its initial price and has yet to drop 8% this year. A focus on efficiency has become second nature to technology managers. The broader economic downturn has hit tech companies particularly hard: More than 184,000 tech workers are set to lose their jobs in 2023 alone, according to Layoffs.fyi.

Flight purchases made with Delta earn redeemable MQD, MQM, MQS and SkyMiles. Lyft Rewards Codes expire on May 31, 2023, 11:59 PM EST. But you have enough time to use it. The offer is limited to the first 2,000 buyers during the redemption period, which ends at 11:59 PM EST on November 16th.

It will take some time to activate both gift cards. Expect 24-72 hours. There is no specified limit (at least, as far as we can tell) to the number of times you can take advantage of this promotion. One of my friends made several purchases of $250 Delta gift cards.
