One of Lena's favorite preparations was her family's delicious jam and fruit butterscotch recipes. Since childhood, Lena's ability to turn any fresh fruit into jams, jellies, and preserves for the family to enjoy year-round has held a special place in her heart. Before long, Lena was receiving requests for jam and oil from English families living in and around the Amish community, and even from people outside the community.
20 years ago, Lena finally gave up and started making her jams available to the public. With the help of a local printer who made labels for his bubbles and oils, he began labeling jars and made his delicious jars available to everyone.
