I am not convinced like the Pentecostals that speaking in tongues is a necessary part of being baptized in the Spirit: 1. It is not taught anywhere in the New Testament. I dare say, since it happened this way four times it must happen this way all the time.

2. What Jesus taught in Acts 1:5, 8 is that the experience of baptism in the Spirit will give the power to witness in the Christian life. In terms of Acts, we can say, baptism in the Holy Spirit is what a helpless Christian needs.
