Gift Card Envelope Template
They are perfect for wedding invitations, Christmas cards, greeting cards, anniversary cards and everything in between. Making your own covers is actually quite easy, and once you've had a few, you can make a stack pretty quickly. You will find all popular sizes of envelopes in envelope announcement sizes A2, A6, A7, A8, A9 and A10 used for any type of card.
You will need a printer, glue or tape, and paper to make your envelopes. Use white printer paper to make plain white envelopes. You can use white card stock for a sturdier cover suitable for a greeting card. Scrapbook paper, whether patterned or colored, can also be used to create a unique look.
Be sure to follow each template's printing instructions so you get the right size. I always like to double check the size after printing. You can do this by taking a ruler and making sure the dimensions are as you want them to be. Before you print your envelope, you need to determine the size you want to send.

Printing And Assembling Envelope Templates
There are standard envelopes, sometimes cards have an irregular shape, for which you have to find the best envelope size. Measure your envelope and refer to the chart below. This includes the size of the envelope and the maximum size it can fit. When in doubt, opt for a larger size or create a custom envelope with a single sheet of paper that can be cut to size before folding.
A2 is the most common envelope size for cards. If you are making your own cards this is a great envelope size as it will hold 4 cards cut from 8 1/2" X 11" paper or 2 folded cards. Mel Stampz has free A2 free envelope templates for double sided opening and top opening.
You can print them with or without score lines. Jam Paper also has a free A2 envelope template that you can download to your favorite word processor with one click. It's already in the right places to get you started. Another commonly used format for wedding and party invitations is the A6 envelope.
Nina Paper has a number of A6 envelope templates. They have a standard A-style A6 envelope template that can be used for anything from brochures to invitations. The Baronial envelope style has a large pointed flap and is more formal than the average A6 envelope.

Finding The Right Sized Envelope Template
This would make a great envelope template for a more formal party or wedding invitation. Envelopes.com also has some A6 envelope templates. A square flap envelope and a contour flap envelope are available in A6 format. A7 envelopes contain a 5 x 7 inch card with invitations for weddings, birthdays or other events.
There are also greeting cards, such as Christmas cards, which sometimes come in an A7 envelope. Arty Bride has an A7 envelope template with pictures of how to put the envelope together, and the Paper Mill store has a free PDF of the A7 envelope template with instructions.
You can also use an A8 envelope to hold greeting cards. A 5 1/4" X 7 3/4" greeting card will fit in an A8 envelope. At Envelopes.com you will find A8 templates with a square or contour flap. A9 envelopes are often used for homemade cards, as a folded card or two flat cards measure 5 1/2" X 8 1/2", making them perfect for this envelope.
JamPaper has a free A9 envelope template that you can download directly into your word processing program. An A10 envelope has a circumference of 5 3/4" X 9 1/4".
