It's spring, and that means if I can do a lot of pastels and bright, pretty colors in almost everything I wear, create, and cook... then I'm a happy girl. We recently had friends move into a new house and I wanted to make them a gift basket of goodies to help celebrate the big move and hopefully help them while they-

unpack. When I went to Walmart to find goodies to make a basket, I found the most beautiful Purex® crystal bottles and I KNEW they would look great as a gift with their bright colors! Plus, it's the perfect thing to help our friends with laundry when they haven't fully unpacked their laundry!

I bought Purex Crystals Fabulously Fresh (and we all knew I had to buy it because the word "fabulous" was on it) and Purex Crystals Fresh Mountain Breeze. If you've seen my home office guide, you know why I love these two colors the best!

Then... I bought one for myself. Yes, I'm one of those. I usually like the gift I buy someone so much that I think I should have one too.) If you haven't already. been here for a long time, so you don't know my obsession with gift baskets when it comes to gift giving.

They seem very personal and considerate. So in most of my other DIY gift basket tutorials, I explain how my two main methods of making a gift basket look great: • Use something other than tissue paper for fluff. Of course, it can be used at any time.

I just want to use another if it appears. Now, if you can't see it, I pushed it into the basket to make it a bit 'improved'. But using something like dish towels or baby blankets works great! Plus, it adds to the gift! • Take the items out of the 'box', drill, wrap they come in and remove the labels.

Getting rid of the "store bought" look can give your gift basket a "cleaner" touch. But if the package is as attractive and decorative as the Purex crystals… leave it alone! I think they make the gift basket POP with color. It's always nice to add a little 'home decor' element as part of a housewarming gift.

An immediate opportunity to display something decorative in your new home, it may be what you need in a corner or on a shelf so that it feels comfortable until everything is opened. Things like a small floral accent (something seasonal or neutral so it's more likely to match their decor theme) are good choices.

This little colander, spatula, candle and soap would make a perfect little housewarming gift if you ask me. But when making a gift basket full of all kinds of things, it is always useful to add some things for different rooms in the house, such as the kitchen, laundry room, bathroom, living room, etc.

Plus, who doesn't love a little colander and a nice little spatula? Of course, the items in the gift basket are still nice. But if you can add things like ribbon around some things to add a little flair… it can be a lot cuter.

Here we just wrap the ribbon around the candle to give it a little color. In the back corner, we put a bottle of hand lotion that they can put in their bathroom sink for visitors to visit the new home. Functional AND beautiful! Of course, the shopping cart you put everything in can be just as fun as finding the items inside.

Gift Basket Building Tips:

But here's my tip for buying a basket: Get a basket basket or container like this one. This way the recipient can see the basket right away and doesn't have to squint to see what's in there! Making sure the items are immediately visible when you give them adds the 'wow' factor to the overall gift!
