Dallas Cowboys Gift Box - Dallas-based Tuesday Morning Corp. is going out of business after being sold out of bankruptcy Thursday to a liquidation company. The retailer, which filed for bankruptcy for the second time in three years in February, has closed stores in recent years but still has 59 stores in Texas, including 18 in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

Austin-based Invictus Global Management, which provided financing during the bankruptcy, wanted to buy the company and continue to operate it. He recommended Hilco's bid after a marathon auction that started at 9:30 a.m. on April 19 and ended at 4 a.m. on April 20, investment banker Dustin Mondale said on Tuesday of Piper Sandler.

At the auction, he listened to all the discussions and agreed with Mondell to accept Hilco's offer. Invictus objected to the sale to Hilco Merchant Resources, as did the other lenders and several owners, including the Hillside Village shopping center in Dallas, Brixmor and Macerich.
A lawyer for Invictus said that this was a "sad and disappointing day" and that his client "tried a lot with a loan bridge and low financing" to keep the business going. Tuesday Morning had 487 stores in 40 states when it was introduced. About 265 shops are closed or about to close.

That left about 200 locations that the company originally planned to reorganize and emerge from bankruptcy as a smaller retailer. Plano, Rockwall, Sherman, and Waxahatchee, Weatherford. . The cooling-off will occur around the same time that Bed Bath & Beyond closes 360 stores under its name and 120 Buy Buy Baby stores. The large home goods store, which has been struggling with some operational missteps for nearly two years, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on Sunday.

Bed Bath & Beyond has 52 stores in Texas, including two in Dallas and one each in Arlington, Denton, Euless, Flower Mound, Fort Worth, Frisco, Mansfield, McKinney, Mesquite, Plano, Rockwall, Sherman, Southlake and Weatherford. Just three years ago, Fort Worth-based Pier 1 Imports closed stores.
