Christmas Gift Poem - Here are two Christmas gift exchange song ideas that will make your Christmas gift exchange even more fun! Simply read the poem, move your gifts left and right as the words are read, and laugh along the way. In all of my other gift exchange games, I've been asked to send an email and ask for a Christmas gift exchange poem that can be printed from left to right.

Christmas Gift Poem

I've only played the game two or three times, so I haven't written a song yet. But it's a super fun game, so I thought it was time! You know I love rhymes, or maybe you've seen my scavenger hunt ideas! I created two Christmas games left and right by two of my favorite things - movies and Disney!

One is more for adults (Sarah Meets Mr. Yamin) and the other is more kid-friendly following the story of Mickey and his friends. Right and left Christmas gift exchanges I hear performed at several parties, almost every year. It's a simple and great way to deliver gifts in a fun way.

Like the saran wrap game and Christmas bingo, this is a holiday tradition that I see people playing again and again year after year. Some songs are about Santa and his chubby little belly, some are about a jolly old elf who works for St. Nick, and some are Christmas-themed, but not Christmas.

What Is A Left Right Gift Exchange?

Left-to-right Christmas games are perfect for exchanging gifts with large groups because they take a certain amount of time to complete as the number of players varies. The game basically involves everyone who brings a wrapped gift, and everyone sitting in a circle passes the gifts left or right while someone reads (or writes) the words "left" or "right" in the poem.

Poems or stories are specially written with many rights and lefts like this. So start by having everyone sit in a large circle. Then pass out the wrapped gifts to everyone. Then you're ready to start the gift-giving game! Read the story slowly, making sure to emphasize when you say the right and left words.

Word of mouth signs are helping people - and the people giving them gifts left and right! Then at the end of the song (or at the end of the story) everyone opens their gifts. I recommend that people bring a white elephant gift or a one-of-a-kind gift because it's totally lucky to give it away!

Or if you want to get something nice for everyone and save the white elephant for a real white elephant gift exchange, you can do a regular gift exchange! If you're looking for something a little more lucky in transit, try my Gift Exchange Card Game!

What Is A Left Right Gift Exchange?

It's very interesting to watch, especially if the person reads the story very quickly, and the story has a lot of lefties and rights! And when I say story, it could be a story or a poem or really anything else. I chose to sing because I love rhymes!

If you like rhyming games, be sure to also check out my current game walkthrough! Making your own story can be a lot of fun too, but if you're doing it at the last minute or don't want to make a fancy story yourself, you can download one below!

Both songs follow the same pattern - a story that tells the right and left words. The former follows a woman who meets her husband and is completely adult-friendly. The second is more kid-friendly, following Mickey Mouse and his friends as they shop for Christmas presents.

Suitable for groups of all sizes and for all ages, just choose what works best for you. This Christmas gift exchange song was inspired by that great Hallmark movie Girl Meets Mr. Right. After watching all kinds of movies last week, this story just wrote itself.

Here's a sneak peek! You can get an instant download at the bottom of this post! The second game is the story of Mickey Mouse trying to choose the best gifts for his friends. If you like Disney or play with mostly kids, this is the right story for you!

Note that I said story - unlike the above, this is a story, not a poem. Still played the same way, it just didn't rhyme. If you want to provide all the gifts for this game instead of bringing them yourself, this works really well with things like candy, Christmas decorations, and we even did it with books for a class party one year!

I like to do things in the same genre but different. To play the left and right Christmas game, everyone sits in a large circle and starts with a wrapped present. Then someone reads a poem or story with the letters "left" and "right" in it over and over again.

When readers say left, everyone gives their gifts to the left. If the reader is correct, everyone passes their gifts to the right. At the end of the story, everyone opens their gifts and keeps the ones they opened. If you're hosting a holiday gift exchange game where everyone brings their own gifts, make sure everyone knows what the theme is and what the price limit is.

If you provide all the gifts yourself, I recommend making gifts of the same type but different types. For example, fuzzy socks, candy, cookies, and even board games. (If you need some recommendations, these are the best board games for kids.) If you're doing a Secret Santa gift exchange and people are choosing a gift for a specific person, I don't recommend this simple game.
