One thing to note about ChowNow is that it's not really a delivery service. ChowNow doesn't use its own delivery drivers - it's pretty much a marketing team and middle man. Instead, the company gives restaurants the option to hire and use their own delivery drivers for orders that go through the site.
However, if restaurants don't want to hire drivers, they're out of luck—ChowNow has partnerships with some of the delivery services it competes with, including Postmates, DoorDash, UberEats, in several areas. ChowNow isn't trying to put these companies out of business - just imagine how they work so the process works for everyone.
As a customer, using ChowNow shouldn't be that different from using other ordering apps. It works pretty much the same, but if you use it instead of one of the other apps, you're doing your part to help local restaurants keep more of what they earn.

When you download the ChowNow app, it looks a lot like any other ordering app you might be familiar with. You enter your location and it shows you a list of restaurants available in your area and you can tap on them to view their menu.
From there, you simply add items to your cart, check out, and wait. If that's all you use ChowNow for, you're still helping your local small businesses—plus, you can help yourself, too. Because of the high commissions for apps like GrubHub and Postmates, many restaurants are raising their in-app prices to make up for what would otherwise be a net loss.
