There, using a Visa credit card issued by Wells Fargo Bank, Hardy's grandmother purchased three Walmart-branded Visa gift cards and loaded each with $100. Because of the service fee for each card, the total transaction was $316.32. Later, at Christmas, Horn gave one card to his son, another to his daughter, and a third to his stepmother.
The cards, which displayed the Walmart logo on the front, weren't used until Feb. 4, when Horn's son tried to use his gift card to pay for a meal at a local restaurant. The Visa transaction was declined because the balance on the card was 5 cents instead of $100.
Realizing the card was no good, Horne called her daughter and stepmother to warn them that something might happen to their unused gift cards. Those concerns were valid. When each woman checked the balance, they found it was zero. Further investigation by Horn and Visa revealed a $99.95 transaction on Horn's son's card on Jan. 23 at a Harris Teeter store in Charlotte, North Carolina.

That same day, two other cards drained their $100 balance at a Food Lion in North Carolina. Now, Horne is trying to get his money back, but to no avail, so Horne called Visa Gift Cards, which he advised to get a refund from Walmart.
Making Returns With A Gift Card
A branch manager at the Horns Wells Fargo bank that issued her Visa credit card gave her the same advice. Horne, 72, said he made "seven or eight" visits to the Bonsack Walmart to get it fixed. There, the manager gave her three different Walmart corporate phone numbers to call.
Horne said Walmart employees at one number referred her to another number that no one answered. No one answered other Walmart corporate numbers left by Bonzak's manager. Horn identified the manager who gave him the phone numbers as Kevin Dixton. (She also reported the fraud to the police.) So far, no one has been able to reunite Horn with the $316.32 she embezzled.
So he really got to you last week. He sent me photos of fraudulent cards, photos of his Walmart receipts, etc. But so far I have not helped Horn much. Kevin Dixton was not working at Bonsac on Thursday or Monday when I tried to reach him by phone several times each day.
