7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each for the good of all: 8 for to one the word of wisdom is given by the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit, 9 to another faith by the same Spirit.
What Is The Gift Of Faith?
Spirit, to another gifts of healing from the same Spirit, 10 to another the work of miracles, to another prophecy, to another the discernment of spirits, to another the interpretation of tongues. 11 But one Spirit works all these things, distributing to each individually as he wills.

– 1 Corinthians 12:7-11 NKJV (emphasis added in bold) In writing about the gifts I thought it would be easier to break down the information by answering the 5Ws. If you're not familiar with the 5Ws, it basically means who, what, when, where and why Just a note for now I omitted "when".
If a question comes to mind in the future when or a helpful read has some suggestions… I will add to the post. But I hope this structure helps make things clear and easy to digest. The Greek word used in 1 Corinthians 14 to describe the gift of faith is pistis which means persuasion, belief (to believe or accept something as true) πίστις pístis, pis'-tis;
from G3982; persuasion, i.e. belief; moral belief (of religious truth, or of the truthfulness of God or a religious teacher), especially reliance on Christ for salvation; abstractly, constancy in this profession; by extension, the very system of religious truth (Gospel): certainty, belief, belief, faith, fidelity.
What Is The Purpose Of The Gift Of Faith?
The gift of faith is the supernatural ability to trust, without doubt or hesitation, to believe God for the impossible in a situation or need. According to Galatians 5 as we walk in the Spirit, we will bear the fruit of the Spirit. And one of these attributes is faith.
This is not to be confused with the gift of faith. Nor is it the faith we have when we first come to the Lord (saving faith). The gift of faith is a miraculous, mountain-moving, withering kind of faith. Hope is a vital part of our walk with God. It works like faith in that it involves trust and expectation, but it's not the same as the gift of faith.

The purpose behind the gift of faith is to allow the believer to see the hands of God manifest in a situation. This raises the level of faith in the church, condemns the lost, transforms lives, produces miracles, and brings a level of peace that is supernatural.
Sometimes the gift of faith will work with the other gifts. For example the gift of faith and the work of miracles or healings. Acts 9:11-16 - The Lord gave Ananias a word of knowledge giving him clear information on how to find Paul. Acts 28:3-6 Paul shook the poisonous snake out of his hand and acted as if nothing had happened.
What Are Some Examples Of Gift Of Faith In The Bible?
He had such faith that nothing would happen to him. Acts 3:1-7 Peter proclaimed the healing of a man with such confidence in God's ability to heal. He seeks love and spiritual gifts, but above all that you prophesy. - 1 Corinthians 14:1 I say this in my posts about gifts of the Spirit, but it's important!
Paul clearly says that we must first seek love (Important) and desire spiritual gifts. That word desire actually means to be passionate or jealous. As with any gift, if you are a Christian you can ask God for spiritual gifts. And faith is great! We should pray to grow in our faith no matter what, but we should also ask God to give us the gift of faith.
Why? Because it moves mountains! This is the kind of faith that floods our soul and spirit. Bring peace, trust and the power of God into a situation. I say this with all the gifts of the Holy Spirit. But if before it was necessary for the church, today it is necessary for us!

No matter how much we are given, we need faith and the gift of faith is part of it! The gift of faith moves mountains, brings discovery, and sets the spiritual mood for miracles. We need it as much as the early church needed it!
Who Is The Gift For?
Faith is one of the central themes throughout the Bible, but the actual gift of faith is not mentioned much. We see it in action through the stories and testimonies of ancient saints. What we do know is that in Romans each of us has a measure of faith.
I believe the gift of faith is a kind of measure of faith that one gives at certain times. 1Co 12:9 NKJV - 9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit, Rom 12:3 NKJV - 3 For I say, by the grace given to me, to all who are among you: do not think [of himself] higher than he should think, but think soberly, for God has given each one a measure of faith.
We should all be praying and asking God for more faith and that includes asking for the gift of faith! We have all been given a measure of faith. And it starts with the faith we have for our salvation (Ephesians 2:8-9) But the gift of faith takes it to a whole other level.
It's the kind of faith that changes things naturally! And it usually works with other boons like healings and miracles. Well, I hope this post encourages you to seek God more and long for the gift of faith. Feel free to leave me a comment below!
