You'll love these vintage gift wrapping ideas. And each one is very easy to make! Today I thought I'd share some simple gift wrapping ideas that are gifts in themselves. I love a good wrapping paper and when it has a personal and unique touch I love it.

I love to browse the (French) markets in my area (I live in the Netherlands near Belgium, Germany and France) and my art room is full of antiques that I couldn't let go of and had to bring home.

So for this year's Christmas wrapping paper, I decided to dip into my stash and use what I had. If you're not lucky enough to find a lot of flea market finds, you might have luck at the Etsy Shop for Nest Songs. I always have lots of vintage items there that can be used in your displays, your artwork and your gift wrapping.
I love antique dolls very much, they are very versatile. Just add a pair to a white pack and you have instant glam. The packaging is first wrapped in plain white paper to create the perfect background for the white doilies. The handmade crocheted doi is attached to the package with small drops of glue.

In this way, the underwear can be easily removed and reused. The package becomes a gift in itself. Doilies also work wonderfully on plain brown paper. This one is definitely inspired by The Sound of Music (you have to see the Christmas movie don't you think) but I didn't tie it with string but with some ribbon and added some bling.
This crotch is not very sticky. A satin ribbon woven with fabric holds it in place. A piece of vintage jewelry (an earring clip) hides the tape that holds the belt. Doilies are always easy to find. But if it is not possible to have it, tying different pieces of ribbon and lace in a brown paper package also works.
Personalized Advertising
Don't you agree that this looks lovely? Use small pieces of tape on the back to connect the ribbon and lace. Here is another simple idea. This white paper bag is actually your everyday sandwich bag from the grocery store. But with an engraved gold stamp, thread and mother-of-pearl button, it's definitely not everyday anymore.
Use a large wooden stamp, gold embossing powder and a heat gun to create the decoration. I followed these writing instructions and found them fun and easy. I love mother of pearl buttons and think they are the cutest as a vintage gift bag closure.
Paper bags are very easy to use and take very little to look good. Here's another idea for you if you don't have vintage crochet doilies. Lace paper towels from the baking department work too! I added gold sticker decals from my scrapbooking stash and vintage embellishments.

You can really use anything pretty on its own to wrap this Christmas gift. The next package is assembled - what I think was a sleeve - from a lace dress. I often find bags of broken pieces at flea markets and if I see at least three good things there and the price is good, I always grab them.

You never know what treasures are hidden in such bags. I wrapped the small box in white tissue paper first so the colors wouldn't shine through the rice. And I used an old belt buckle and satin ribbon to tie it together. Tissue paper is very easy to use when wrapping oddly shaped packages.
For these two packages I used several sheets of white tissue paper. The grand package was completed with a matching tea bag and vintage jewelery for extra glamour. The second package is a roll with a vintage Christmas label. Making vintage gift tags is so much fun and so easy to make.
This vintage Christmas gift tag is made by cutting out a vintage Christmas card with pink shears and gluing it to a gold background. The gold background is made by wrapping cardboard (also cut with pinking shears) with gold foil from a candy wrapper. Together they make the perfect vintage Christmas gift tag.
