The gift cards look real and are an obvious credit to online stores like Little Wanderers, Pregnancy Pillow, Custom Snappies, Udder Covers, and Canopy Couture. NewsChannel 9 anchor Andrew Donovan took one of the gift cards and tried to buy $30 worth of baby shoes from LittleWanderers.com.
With $30 left in credit, the site still asked for credit card information to cover the $18 shipping fee. While the scheme may not be illegal and the online stores sell genuine products, the investigation shows that the company makes money by appearing to offer credit but charging more for shipping that the gift cards don't cover.

The same results match complaints filed with the Better Business Bureau from customers who were charged more for shipping than if they hadn't used gift cards. All of the businesses listed on the gift cards are operated by Mothers Lounge, which has not responded to NewsChannel 9's request for comment.
