Inspired by researchers' heroic response to COVID, an anonymous donor fuels two important programs: the UCSF Discovery Fellows Program, which supports doctoral students in the basic sciences, and the Sandler Program for Advanced Biomedical Research at UCSF. The gift from venture capital luminary Sir Michael Moritz KBE and author Harriet Hayman through their Crankstart Foundation creates a permanent endowment for the newly named Sandler Program for Advanced Biomedical Research.
