When married couple Simon (Jason Bateman) and Robin (Rebecca Hall) discover Gordo (Joel Edgerton), an old friend of Simon's, they don't know if their perfect lives will be thrown into a terrible tailspin. At first, Simon doesn't recognize Gordo, but after a series of uninvited meetings and mysterious gifts, a terrible secret emerges.

Became one of the best movies ever. 2015: It currently ranks 28th on Rotten Tomatoes for the year to date. However, after the opening weekend, the result of "The Gifts" was seen as very sad with some critics and viewers, some of which changed to an appreciative one or enjoyed white fury.
Edgerton, making his directorial debut, is a steady hand behind the camera, slowly wrapping up twists and turns as the film constantly shifts the audience's imagination, and our guesses, at who the main character is, David Toohey. Equal to everything from "The Perfect". . Go away.”

We fall in love with Jason Bateman's Simon, who has moved back closer to his childhood home to start a new job, and his wife Robin, a designer, who makes it easy to return home. and trying to conceive a new child. And we're haunted by Edgerton's Gordon, a high school friend of Simon's, who seems to be on a rampage over some mysterious crime (or mistaken identity).
It's a movie you can start with the sound of footsteps in a light-filled California house, where you can always see the edges of the image and something lurking there. Edgerton isn't afraid of jump scares, but he doesn't trust them, he wants to build slowly and without suspense, even if we're not entirely sure if Gordon is a real threat.
Done Already? A Few More Words Can Help Others Decide If It's Worth Watching
Simon's answer to him. Then, as "The Gift" lines up to its knock-out key, the bottom drops. Now, we know that, far from being a disaster, Simon is a manipulative creep: in high school, when he starts a good rumor about "Gordo the Weirdo" that ruins his life;
and as an adult, where he presented evidence to challenge his opponent for promotion. (Though "The Gift" didn't do much, there's a subtle connection between Simon's passion for information manipulation and his work in the digital security field.) We see that he's enlightened to Robin, and he must have been drawn.
Him in the first place because he is a healer and therefore he can doubt himself. Simon is within an inch of getting everything he wants: a miracle worker, a beautiful woman who can convince him to quit his job and raise the child he once conceived.
