While it may seem like a fool's errand to commit to this particular list, Time is the gift of fairy tales. Kaleidoscopic patterns of purposeful vocals, melodies redolent with emotion and hope, and a rhythm section are evident. Personally, I found Tales more appealing, but The Gift of Time is a better list of complex computer integration.

Two years out, Ponty must have sharpened these compositions. For whatever reason, these songs feel like the result of multiple tunings that sound like the work of a sun-baked Swiss watch. Ponty is careful not to lose sight of the human element, which is sometimes hidden in his early love for electronic music.

For example, "Confidence in You" creates an emotional connection with the listener, synonymous with Synclavier. The rest of the track is uninteresting, exploring the mathematical variations of "Metamorphosis" or the ambient melodies of "Introduction". To be honest, a lot of Ponty's music reminded me of Jean-Michel Jarre: soulful electronic music and an ear for beautiful melodies.
