He lives in Evergreen, Colorado. Dr. Paul Brand, the son of missionary parents, was a world-renowned hand surgeon who pioneered the development of vein grafting techniques for leprosy hands. He trained in medicine at University Hospital London and continued his surgical qualifications while working as a surgeon in the London Blitz.
After visiting the Leprosy Sanatorium at Chingleput, he was inspired to explore the causes behind the crippling disease. Donor women missionaries helped establish the New Life Rehabilitation Center, which helped remove the stigma of leprosy from medical professionals. He has written and authored a number of books, including his awesomely crafted and feature films.
