The Gift Of Hospitality
A person with this gift likes to share their home or space without the need for you to do so. Ask yourself the following questions. If you answered "yes" to most, then you may have the spiritual gift of hospitality: Romans 12:9-13 - "Don't just pretend to love others."

Only the person serving shows hospitality. The Bible has many examples of how to use the gift of hospitality. Webster's New World Dictionary defines hospitality - guests to be "the act, habit, or quality of being hospitable; entertaining entertainment for guests." And hospitality is "a) friendliness, kindness and concern for guests b) motivated by or associated with friendliness and enthusiasm for guests."
The modern English version renders the last sentence, "Take care of God's people in need and receive strangers into your home." This is a good translation because the Greek word for hospitality is kindness to strangers—even strangers. This is supported by Jesus' statement in Matthew 5:47: What else do we learn from this passage?

This love is the foundation of biblical generosity. Life Application The Bible note in verse 13 says: This is a ministry that can be done at home, in the church, and in the women's ministry, for both women and men - and the skills of both should be used.
By practicing biblical hospitality, we don't have to worry about fancy houses, party budgets, or impressing people just for the sake of it. God is opening the door to innovative and creative generosity—which can be done in a very simple way to close the wounds of broken hearts, and to gather and establish active members in the church.
You see, true Christian hospitality is caring for other people – reaching out to those who feel like no one cares. They feel alone. They need friendship. They need to know that God loves them. So hospitality is not about fancy food, beautiful houses or special events.

Perhaps one of the most famous commands regarding hospitality is that found in Hebrews 13:2: We all remember the example of Abraham who welcomed the angels, I'm sure. Hospitality saved the lives of Lot and his daughters and could save the rest of his family if they accepted.
Bible Examples
Some acts of kindness are very simple, like sharing a cup of water. Other hospitality may be more generous, like the widow of Sarephha who gave Elijah all the food he had left—or at least thought she was giving him all the food.
