A huge plus is the AWESOME customer service and attention they give to EVERY customer. My favorite for wedding, baby, birthday, anniversary and just for gift giving! Brightly colored horses dot the suburban landscape, some grazing, some peering across the roads, some standing mid-trot, adding a nice touch to Germantown's equestrian character.

The fiberglass horses with themes ranging from gifts to cancer awareness to floral prints were part of a celebration of the 2008 Germantown Charity Horse Show and the creation of Tempe's chancellor. Chancellor, in her travels with her husband, Jimmy, came across similar horse statues in Lexington, Kentucky;
Oklahoma; and a few other places. He thought the idea was perfect for Germantown and its longstanding reputation for horse farms, the annual charity horse show and even part of the town's logos. Other cities have adopted similar ideas with different characters. The frogs ended up in Toledo, Ohio.
Dothan, Alabama has 4-foot-tall decorated peanut statues that represent the city's reputation as the "Peanut Capital of the World" and home of the World Peanut Festival. Fairhope, Alabama has painted pelicans around its downtown, and many years ago landed almost 100 loggerhead statues in the Tampa Bay area.
Then, of course, around these parts, there are the various painted tigers that represent the University of Memphis. About nine years ago, local artists were invited to submit their ideas for Germantown horse designs. A horse was decorated with pennies and was given the name "Horse Pennies", the shiny dull coins providing the shadow of the animal.
Another named "Champ" was traditionally painted, with his Germantown Charity Horse Show blanket on his back, and stands on Melanie Smith Lane on Poplar Pike, welcoming visitors to the horse show grounds The music is represented in the "Cavall del Blues" and the "Cavall basculant".

The breast cancer awareness statue sits near Wolf River Boulevard in the city's Medical District Corridor, decked out in various shades of pink, down to the shades of the running shoes that cover her four hooves. "It was a fun thing to do," Chancellor said, noting that he still gets asked about the footage from time to time.
There were 21 horses when they were finally auctioned - the money split between the winning bidder's charity, the horse show charity and a portion going to the artists, who all donated their work . They ended up in various places in the suburbs, including the Memphis Oral School for the Deaf in Poplar near Brierbrook.
Two of the statues - "Gift Horse" and "Rocking Horse" - stand in front of the school. Chancellor noted that the "Gift Horse" packages are marked with the names of students attending the school at the time. "Rocking Horse" has a cochlear implant near the horse's ear and looks at Poplar, a nod to schoolwork.
This is definitely unique to here," said Teresa Schwartz, the school's principal. The two images serve as photo opportunities for visitors and landmarks for people trying to find the school. On graduation day, students surround the horses for the annual butterfly release. "(Horses) are kind of the centerpiece of what we do," Schwatz said.
