because the resources are free. I personally have the first five different types of free TpT resources in my TpT repository. TpT writers like myself should post at least one free resource before selling teachers a teacher's salary. You may have to search a lot of free stuff to find rough diamonds.
On the other hand, many experienced sellers also create fantastic free resources. One of my first resources was a Growth Mindset poster that I made and used in my classroom. Moving on, I learned a little more about selling on TpT. This free crossword puzzle "Who is invisible" has been downloaded over 3500 times since it was published.
I guess I should charge for a lesson in the invisible Who's Who slideshow, but I won't. The slide show lesson is absolutely free. (In fact, I've even posted the entire Diversity and Inclusion slideshow lesson on its own website!) (January 2022 update: I've launched a paid add-on to this free lesson! Teachers can now update and receive handouts for free.

But I still decided to give it away for free. I posted WHO is INVISIBLE as a free TpT lesson because I want more teachers to use it. Facing serious issues like racism, discrimination, surviving an epidemic, doing everything right and still losing your job, trying to build healthy relationships... Preparing students (and ourselves) for the 21st century is something we can apply
at any time. Nothing works for everyone, all the time. Tomorrow's questions haven't even been asked yet! So, I'm giving away a great TpT product for free that I think will help... Oh, and I try to promote my free products by giving teachers a Pay Teachers gift card... Teaching is a fun and rewarding job, but it

No purchase required. It is important to think critically and consider how the other person will benefit if the message is accepted. I want to help people who want to make the world a better place. I want to help teachers do their best for their students.

We often don't have time to go to the toilet or eat lunch during the school day. It can be difficult to find time to collaborate with teachers in the classroom, let alone people from all over the world. (And as of this writing, my Educircles resources have been downloaded over 25,000 times worldwide – which is pretty cool, but also makes it harder to interrupt your classroom.) So, with every Google Form submission, you Google Apps or I ask a little question, like
do you use Microsoft products... This helps me learn who you are so I can create better products that meet your needs. And of course, sell more products, make more money, give away more TpT gift cards, lather, rinse, repeat. I know from experience that most people don't try to enter a contest.

Some Tpt Resources Are Free Because They Want To Be
People who win a TpT gift card from me multiple times see value in it and keep it. I have been showing this video to my students on how to be a leader and make the world a better place. (This is also a 3-minute TED talk.) The way to create movement is to be the first to get up and connect, not to be a crazy dancing person.
As someone who creates Growth Mindset and 21st Century Learning resources, I can support early adopters. Because a teacher who finds one of my resources and a TpT gift card gives… Also, you don't have to use the Teacher pay Teachers gift card in my store - just use it to get the resources you need for your classroom.
