In the Instacart gift card row in your balance, you'll see your gift card applied to your current order. The remaining balance will appear under Gift Card Credit in your account and will be applied to your next order. Note: If the gift card is redeemed before checkout, the gift card amount will be applied to that order.

This slight difference accounts for possible changes in the final total due to special requests, added items, changed items at different prices, and actual item weight.

If the authorization exceeds the amount on your gift card, we charge the difference to the credit or debit card you entered at checkout. Your gift card and/or credit or debit card will only be charged for the total number of items shipped to you.
