so the money stays in our parish. St. Vincent's Gift Shop offers books, saint pins, signs, statues, Bibles, prayer cards and more! We have great gifts for those celebrating their First Anniversary or Engagement! New items arrive every week! St. Vincent's Hospital Gift Shop, located in Birmingham, Alabama, is part of Ascension Health and has not stopped selling to its customers during the pandemic.
Instead, he found creative ways to continue to provide what his customers needed. Lee Patterson, manager of customer service for St. Vincent's Hospital Gift Shop, shares how to adapt operations to continue business, albeit in a different way. "Even though we are completely closed - just a few short weeks - our clinic is still closed to visitors. As a result, our current sales are one-third of our expected sales," Patterson said.
Purchase A Gift Card
Since the hospital is closed to visitors, the staff found ways to communicate and market. "We use posters in the hospital and send 'all' emails to all of our staff," Patterson said. "Emails are successful and have been, even before all this. We can't use social media to promote the gift shop."
Because many hospital gift shops give all, or most, of their profits back to the hospital - and there is no donation - it is expected that our prizes are often not the same as those of a competitor. The idea of our hospital is that. if
we advertise and destroy our competitors' prices, and were there to be a complaint, we could risk our tax-free status," explained Patterson. Summary of COVID-19's impact on St. John's Gift Shop business Vincent in many ways. "The number of customers in the store must be limited at any time. We maintain social distancing, must wear masks (hospital guidelines) and use plexi screens at the registers," said Patterson.

We allow clothing to be tried on in stores, but we do not allow clothing to be returned at this time." When the retail store closed, purchases were still offered by email and phone with a credit card. "We have bagged and placed items for pick-up outside our door for 'touchless' delivery. When delivering a patient to the hospital, it is only in the nursing home, and is not allowed in any restricted area," said Patterson.
Schedule A Free At-Home Pickup
The shop has been redesigned - some fixtures have been removed as well as screens - to accommodate remote controls. "We have already started discussions about limiting the amount of Christmas shopping, trees and displays to maintain hospital guidelines," Patterson said. To manage research, Patterson relied on current sales figures as a guide for sales and adapted to deal with the new "normal".
He learned that things can change every day. So, what was the biggest challenge faced by St. A gift from Vincent during a pandemic? "Try to stay relevant to our customers. Hospitals are not the best places to buy right now!," Patterson emphasized. Although the brick-and-mortar store is "different" in this new retail pricing, it still has the best products.
According to Patterson, three categories — women's ready-to-wear departments, baby stores, food and beverage — top the list in terms of volume. Her main retailers are Mud Pie, Easel, burton + Burton, Kellis and DM Merchandising. “Take it one day at a time. Be glad you are healthy.
We are thankful every day that we work for an organization that cares about our well-being and can keep our jobs,” Patterson advised. Your access to this service is limited. (HTTP 503 response) If you think you have been blocked by mistake, contact the owner of this site for assistance.
