However, the passenger use fee was only $2.99 for my recent Spirit flight from Orlando to Louisville when I booked on the Spirit website. However, checked bags for Boost It and Bundle It upgrade packages can weigh up to 50 pounds on some routes. Can I Select A Seat?
Charges for checked bags vary depending on the route of your flight and when you purchase your checked bags with Spirit. You can use a tool on Spirit's website to calculate baggage fees. In general, paying for luggage is cheaper during booking, while it is more expensive at the gate.
While a checked bag typically costs less than a carry-on, the savings may not be worth standing in Spirit's notoriously long baggage lines at some airports. When you arrive at the gate, the checked baggage fee is the same as the carry-on baggage fee. All Spirit passengers may bring one personal item, such as a wallet or laptop bag, no larger than 18 inches x 14 inches x 8 inches, at no additional charge.
Before a recent flight, I found that my relatively empty backpack fit easily into the personal items meter. However, if you wish to bring a larger suitcase, or a second smaller one, on board, you will need to purchase carry-on luggage. If you are purchasing a carry-on bag, the size of the bag cannot be larger than 22 inches x 18 inches x 10 inches.

As with checked baggage, the cost of carry-on baggage depends on the route and date of purchase of the carry-on baggage. The cheapest option is to pay for your carry-on on the Spirit website when you purchase your ticket, while the most expensive is to buy your carry-on at the gate.
Should I Purchase The Bundle It Combo?

Standard seats are $1 to $50, while large front seats are $12 to $150 in advance and $25 to $175 when purchased on board. I recently booked a Spirit flight from Orlando to Louisville. Approximately two weeks before departure, the seat costs were as follows: I decided not to reserve a seat.
After all, the Spirit website says: I checked the cost of seat selection a few hours before my flight. When I did that, I could still choose a large front seat for $52, an exit row for $28, or a seat near the front of the plane for $25.
I have not yet paid to select these seats at check-in and receive a message that Spirit will assign me a seat at the gate. I was lucky to get a window seat at the front of the plane, but Spirit could have given me a less desirable seat.
