Space Murals Museum And Gift Shop - This folk museum features a 1,200,000-gallon water tank and murals that circulate the lake. The mural traces the beginning of the US space program to the fatal crash of the space shuttle Challenger. Next to the water tank is a 1/8 scale replica of the Challenger shuttle, a V-2 rocket and other artifacts.

An adjacent 6,000-square-foot museum space houses donated space program artifacts, photographs, and related newspaper and magazine articles. In addition, there is a replica of the Mercury capsule and a video showcasing the astronauts. The museum also has a small gift shop with items related to the space program and space exploration.
The Brannigan Cultural Center features indoor and traveling exhibits, regional historic and permanent collections, and works by local and regional artists. Fort Selden was built by the US Army in 1865 to protect the residents of the Mesilla Valley and was the original home of the Buffalo Soldiers.
Today, part of the fort's brick walls remain, as well as a visitor center with exhibits on frontier and military life. Living history demonstrations are sometimes offered on weekends. (Closed on Tuesdays) This small museum has history, furniture, paintings, jewellery, religious artifacts, pictures. Although reservations are not required, an appointment in advance will ensure you won't be disappointed.

The exhibits change several times a year and often include lectures and demonstrations. The museum features live animals and plants of the Chihuahuan Desert, along with science and natural history exhibits for children.

Housed in a historic warehouse in Santa Fe, exhibits include railroad tools, railroadiana and model trains. The museum is 47 acres full of real stories about real people.
The interactive museum brings to life 3,000 years of farming and ranching history in New Mexico. Visitors can watch a cow being milked, walk along coral reefs full of livestock, enjoy the gardens or watch blacksmithing, blacksmithing, watering and more. Living history demonstrations are sometimes offered on weekends.

Collections document the cultural diversity of the United States Southwest and the border of northern Mexico, focusing on the traditions of existing historic and prehistoric cultures.

NMSU's Zuhl Collection displays thousands of beautiful specimens of petrified wood, fossils and minerals. Gaspar Enríquez is a nationally recognized Chicano artist from El Paso, Texas, who uses an airbrush to create surreal portraits. The exhibition will run from February 3 to May 6, 2023. Gaspar Enríquez is a self-described Chicano artist who has been at the forefront of the national Chicano art movement for over fifty years.

Born and raised in El Paso, Texas, he uses his hyper-realistic, airbrushed portraits to show the humanity of the El Paso Chicano community and the tensions they face living in a bicultural environment. Enriquez's Chicano heritage is a common thread that binds his work, reflecting his life experiences, the urban environment, and the people of his hometown.
His compassionate nature allows him to capture the humanity of his subjects and forces the viewer to look deeply into his subjects. Gaspar Enríquez was born in 1942 and raised in the Segundo Barrio of El Paso, Texas. He received a BA from the University of Texas at El Paso in 1971 and a MA from New Mexico State University in 1985.
Enriquez was an art teacher at Bowie High School in El Paso for 32 years. Since retirement, he has focused on his artwork and restoration of adobe structures in historic downtown San Elizario, Texas. His artwork is in the collections of the Smithsonian Institution's National Portrait Gallery, the Cheech Marin Center for Chicano Arts and Culture, the El Paso Museum of Art, and other prominent institutions.
