Book A Tour Of Snoqualmie Falls
If you're in Seattle, one of the easiest ways to visit is to book a tour of Snoqualmie Falls. The tour includes transportation to the falls, as well as stops at two different wineries in Woodinville. (We wrote a full post on wineries in Woodinville, click here!) We recommend the tour option if you're an out-of-town visitor.

That way, you don't have to worry about booking a rental car or navigating public transportation. No two visits to Snoqualmie Falls are the same. Visits in the spring will be different from visits in the summer. Visits at night will be different from visits in the morning.
And a visit on a rainy day will be different from a visit on a sunny day. So even if you've been to Snoqualmie Falls a time or two before, you'll probably enjoy it again. The natives found the first tots, as the Snoqualmie River was a meeting place for many native groups.

The Snoqualmie tribe recently reclaimed their sacred land. This purchase reflects hundreds of years of advocacy and conservation efforts within the tribe. As you prepare for your trip, we have a few suggested items to take with you on your visit: If you're visiting the falls on a rainy day, we highly recommend wearing a nice raincoat or even a poncho.
We also recommend buying Pancake Mixes. The pancakes are so good, and it's a mix we buy regularly! Snoqualmie Falls is located about 29 miles east of Seattle. You can easily enter Snoqualmie Falls from your GPS, or Salish Lodge (which is a hotel located above the falls).
What To Bring With You To Snoqualmie Falls
There is also a parking lot on the lower observation deck, which has access to a short river path that reaches down. But if you want to see the waterfall from the main deck, you should park on the upper lot. The main address for Snoqualmie Falls (upper observation deck) is: 6501 Railroad Ave SE Snoqualmie, Washington, 98024 The first parking lot is near the gift shop (adjacent to the inn).
This is a small paid parking lot. Charges really fast on a sunny day! The second parking lot is free and located opposite the cottage. There is a nice pedestrian bridge that allows you to walk easily along the busy road to the falls. We found this to be the best option for parking.
Free and across the street! If you stay at Salish Lodge, you can also enjoy valet parking right in front of the property. Finally, there is a lower parking lot that will take you to the end of the trail leading to the lower observation deck at Snoqualmie Falls.

We like to start our visit to the falls by first completing the short trail at the base of the falls to the lower observation deck, then drive or walk to the upper lot to view the falls from the upper observation deck. There is a trail that connects the top and bottom lookouts if you're up for a bit of a hike.
Hiking To The Lower Observation Deck At Snoqualmie Falls
However, during our most recent visit, family members and I decided to park in the lower lot and complete the short boardwalk to the lower observation deck. The boardwalk is mostly flat (although there are some steps) and is about 0.3 mile long. Walk very fast to see the waterfall and back home.
The boardwalk is stunning and follows the river through old growth forest. Once you reach the lower observation deck, you may feel a cool mist. Please practice the Leave No Trace principle and do not litter. Make sure you stay on the marked path. Don't climb over the railing into the river below.
We recommend visiting this trail as you will see the waterfall from a completely different perspective! And once you're done, you can hike up the trail all the way to the top observation deck, or you can do what we did and just repark the car up top.
If you're interested in a full trail description, we recommend visiting the Washington Trail Association website in Snoqualmie Falls. The most popular place to view the falls is from the upper observation deck, which is a short walk from Salish Lodge. It is quite possible to see the waterfall without hiking at all.
