The gift shop looks like your typical shop in the woods, however, when you enter; you are currently in awe of the shop's stunning cottage/home exterior.
The store is two stories high and has everything you can imagine! They have a pizzeria on site, but if you're looking for good home cooking, go to the Gateway Family Restaurant in Spruce Knob (which I'll review too!). The cave tour was fine. We had visited several caves before this and it was very active.
Water still flows through the cave in several places. I highly recommend wearing sneakers on the cave tour as there are stairs and water holes throughout the cave. The only thing we didn't like was that during our tour our guides (two women) were too busy having a personal conversation with each other instead of telling us the history of the places we were at.

What a great place to stay, the chalets at Terry's are so clean and beautiful. The scenery is equally beautiful. Sheila and Lee were very happy with our cave tour and gem mining. God bless you! The first night we arrived, Terry built a fire in the fireplace. Shortly after it disappeared, while we were cutting the logs, a decent sized piece of wood emerged from the fire and landed on a lounge chair near the fireplace. There was a small hole burned in the upholstery of the sofa.
We were scared, so we went early in the morning and notified the office. The lady we spoke to was very upset but she understood that something was happening. The next morning we got a note on the door asking us to go to the office.

When we did, the same lady came to us and asked us to pay for the replacement pad. My boyfriend and I didn't hesitate, but we both discussed it after we left and we felt it was really unfair that she was asking for payment.
Since the owner was insured for such an accident, and it was not our fault, we thought it was wrong. We look forward to coming back again but we won't be back after this Shelley, we're glad you enjoyed the cabin, how nice the cabin is, how much work we put into the cabin and grounds and are proud of it.

But, to answer your question? We are not insured against these types of losses. Having such a policy is very expensive. Therefore, if anything is damaged, burned or damaged, it is the guest's responsibility to pay for it. If the guests who cause any damage to the cabin are not held accountable for their damage, the cabin and property can quickly become very dilapidated.
God bless you, Terry Nice little vacation - emphasis on "leaving". A quaint little community; clean and semi-private. Didn't quite understand when the cabin was in the open where the flies were coming from, or the creepy sound like someone walking across the roof. But overall, if you want to hang out alone, this is a good place.
The Tour
Never able to use wi-fi though. We are so glad you enjoyed our "Little Paradise"! Yes, wifi is an in/out situation, so we recommend guests to unplug and enjoy their time together. With the wind blowing through those cabins, our resort is so quiet you can hear every little sound.
The flies came from the creek behind the cabin. Please come back as soon as possible and tell your family and friends about our situation. God bless you Terri My wife and I took our three little angels for 2 nights in the family cabin this past April and it was a wonderful experience for all.
The family cabin is beautiful, clean and nice. The location is as beautiful as I imagined. Thanks Josh for helping us make great memories! All of our kids (including the 4 year old) caught a trout with fly rods, a trip this dad will never forget, just over 2 hours from Northern Virginia.

Things To Keep In Mind
Please tell your family and friends about our situation and come back as soon as possible. God bless you Terry We spent two nights in the family cabin. We are a family of 4, children aged 3 and 5. It's a great setup. The cabins are beautiful, there is a playground for the kids (we were too early in the outdoor pool season) where the kids played, fished and fed the fish.
We played putt golf, explored caves, and did gem mining. We hiked to the top of Seneca Rock and had a picnic lunch at the lookout. My husband is a fly fisherman. The snowmelt caused the river to flood, so he joined local guide Josh to fish in a stream stocked on site.
Josh was so helpful with the kids and even brought his 5 week old puppy out on the grounds for the kids to play with. My husband has caught a lot of fish and this was the biggest trout he had ever had in his life.
He had a great time. No cell service and limited WiFi, but we were happy to be disconnected for a few days. We will be back. A-Men "Disconnect" is our little haven along the North Fork River. We are glad that you and your family enjoyed your stay.
