something everyone can enjoy, making a visit to Columbia a must. I took my 4 year old grandson with me on a rainy day. We usually go to Ed Venture but decided to try the State Museum. It was an amazing experience for both of us.

We watched a 4D movie which was more fun than I thought it would be. I found the planetarium interesting and impressive enough to hold the interest of a 4-year-old. The exhibits are well explained and well presented. We enjoyed a wonderful "Night at the Museum" with our family.
They have so many interesting exhibits and are very family friendly! Great place to learn more about SC. The planetarium is amazing. I learn more every time I enter. Great Membership Deals Value for every penny! There are so many exhibits that you could spend a whole day looking at them all.

The Patriots Point Marine and Maritime Museum has opened its gift shop and the museum will fully reopen on Friday, May 22 with several new health precautions to reduce the chance of the spread of COVID-19, according to the state of South Carolina.

Indoor exhibits such as the Clamagore submarine, the Apollo 8 space capsule, the flight simulator and the Vietnam Experience bunkers will remain closed. Ultraviolet (UV) light air purifiers were installed in all air conditioning systems on the aircraft carrier USS Yorktown. Floor signs at the museum's ticket window and inside the gift shop encourage social distancing.
Museum custodial staff will continue to follow protocol to ensure self-guided tours and restrooms are cleaned. Print and digital signage will be placed throughout the museum to remind visitors and staff of state and federal health safety recommendations. The museum gift shop is open from 10 am.

Patriots Point employees have been advised on the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) based on guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Personal protective equipment is provided to museum employees. "We are grateful for the opportunity to open in time for Memorial Day weekend," said Patriots Point Executive Director Larry Murray.

The staff at Patriots Point has been a diligent museum until it is closed due to COVID-19. Boardwalks, stairwells, and open spaces aboard the USS Yorktown were stripped and repainted. Wayfinding markings were also improved and the aircraft was pressure washed. "The Fighting Lady looks better than it has in decades. This virus has affected us all negatively. The work we've done is a bright spot," said Murray.
