Safeway Gift Cards Check Balance

If you want to use your gift card balance at another merchant, you will need to place a new order. If you purchased or received a gift card before November 18, 2020, you can redeem it through your Instacart account. However, this gift card does not include service and delivery fees, tips, taxes, prescription or alcohol fees.

Note: You cannot purchase an Instacart+ Membership Gift Card with an Instacart Cash Gift Card. Even if your gift card covers the full purchase amount, you must add a credit or debit card at checkout to use your gift card. Note: Instacart will charge your gift card for items added during or after checkout, unless the amount exceeds the checkout.

If the total amount of the order exceeds the allowance after adding items, the credit or debit card on file will be charged, even if there is enough gift card to cover the excess. Also, if the total order amount after adding products is greater than the amount on your gift card, we will charge the difference to the credit or debit card you entered at checkout.

When processing orders, we will take a temporary authorization for your gift card for an amount slightly above the estimated order amount. This slight difference includes possible variations in the final total due to special requests, added items, items that are exchanged for a different price, and the actual weight of the items.

If the authorized delivery exceeds the amount on your gift card, we will charge the difference to the credit or debit card you entered at checkout. Your gift card and/or credit or debit card will only be charged for the total amount shipped to you.
