It's worthy on its own, but not enough to justify the card (in my opinion). Instead, there are four other perks that keep the card in my wallet. Let's start with the most important: the annual free night on the card. This benefit was previously limited to Marriott properties requiring (maximum) 50,000 points per night.
Earlier this year, cardholders can add up to 15,000 additional points for this reward, but that still means that your free night is worthless for items over 65,000 points. And with the introduction of dynamic pricing, this can be a problem. Well, that all changed.
The Newly-Improved Annual Free Night
Until September 22, 2022, the Ritz-Carlton Card now limits these free nights to 85,000 points. Even better? This change does not affect the annual fee for the card. For the equivalent of $450 per year, you have the opportunity to earn an additional 35,000 points in the previous period.

I have always felt that the 50,000-point certificate is a solid value, but with 85,000 points, I'm delighted. This gives access to almost all of Marriott's portfolio of more than 8,000 hotels, because some often offer free nights at a higher price. For example, let's stop.
I want to treat my wife to a night in St. Regis New York next spring. On Sunday June 4, 2023 I can book a room for 90,000 points. This means I will use my newly upgraded free night from the Ritz-Carlton plus 5,000 points from my Marriott account to end up with an otherwise $1,200+ stay.
There are several premium credit cards that offer Priority Pass Select membership. This privilege will allow you to access more than 1,300 airport lounges around the world. However, the Ritz-Carlton card stands out for several reasons. First of all, it offers the most generous Priority Pass guest perks.

While other card memberships include two guests (or next of kin), Priority Pass membership with the Ritz-Carlton card includes unlimited guests. This means that I can take my family with me when we travel together, but I can also invite a group of friends while we play golf.
Alternatively, you can add an authorized user to your card for $0. Even better? Authorized users enjoy the full membership of Priority Pass, including exclusive guest privileges. With many other premium cards, you must pay an additional annual fee to add authorized users and unlock access to airport lounges (although the Capital One Venture X Rewards credit card is a notable exception to its own authorized user policy).

Finally, the Ritz-Carlton Card applies to participating airport Priority Pass restaurants. You and your guests can get about $28 worth of free food in these establishments (a total of $56), and authorized users can do the same. While it's true that other issuers offer this, the American Express card will stop providing Priority Pass restaurant privileges in 2019. The Chase Ritz-Carlton card offers up to $300 in Airline Contingency Credit each calendar year.
Chase defines these purchases as checked bag fees, in-flight Wi-Fi and seat upgrades. Unlike many other cards that offer reimbursement for incidentals, the Chase Ritz-Carlton Card credit statement is not automatically triggered when you make a qualifying purchase. Instead, you simply send Chase a secure message and the credit should be released into your account within a day or two.
Priority Pass Benefits
In some cases, you can even use this to cover the actual cost of the ticket. For example, I used this credit to pay taxes and fees for an award ticket, and other data points show that paying for part of the flight with a voucher and the rest with your card works just as well.
Alternatively, TPG staff use this by upgrading to first class. For example, American Airlines often offers you an upgrade to First Class at checkout. The screenshot below shows a first class flight from Los Angeles to Las Vegas for $416.79. If you take a screenshot of this page and then purchase this flight, you can send Chase a secure message with this screen and request $300 to be applied to your $300 annual credit.
Of course, this also applies to post factum upgrades - for example, one of these options for the upcoming flight from Salt Lake City to Orlando. It's common knowledge that the Chase Sapphire Reserve offers an incredible set of travel protections. However, the coverage provided by the Ritz-Carlton Card is similar and the annual fee is $100 less.
