Poem For Gift Exchange
Poem For Gift Exchange - Two Christmas gift exchange poem ideas that can make Christmas gift exchange even more fun! Just read the poem, move your gifts left and right as the words are read, and laugh along the way. With all the other gift exchange games I've done, I've had tons of people email me and ask left and right for Christmas gift exchange tunes.

Poem For Gift Exchange
I've played the game two or three times, so I haven't written my poem yet. But it's such a fun game, I thought it was about time! And you know that I love poetry, or I should have ever found my idea for hunting! I made two Christmas games left and right with my favorite things - movies and Disney!
One is more for adults (Sarah meets Mr. Right) and the other is more for children following the story of Mickey and his friends. The left-right Christmas gift exchange is one I see played out at many parties, and hear about it every year. It is a simple and best way to give a gift in an amazing way.
Like Saran Wrap games and Christmas Bingo, it's a holiday tradition of sorts and one I find myself playing again and again, year after year. Some of the poems are about Santa Claus and his little round belly, some are about the old maids who work for St. Louis.
What Is A Left Right Gift Exchange?
Nick, and some of them - like them, it's based on Christmas but not Christmas. Christmas left-right games are perfect for exchanging gifts with large groups because they take a fixed amount of time versus the number of players. The game basically involves everyone bringing a wrapped gift, everyone sitting in a circle, and everyone passing a gift left or right when someone reads (or writes) the word "left" or "right" in the poem.

Poems or stories are typically written with several rights and lefts such as one. So start by putting everything in a big circle. Then distribute the wrapped gifts to everyone. And then you are ready to start the gift passing game! Read the story slowly, making sure to emphasize when you say the words on the right and left.
Word of mouth really helps people - they and people are passing on gifts left and right! Then at the end of the poem (or at the end of the story) everyone opens the gift they are holding. I recommend people bring a white elephant gift or a unisex gift that everyone will love because of his luck!
Or you can just do a regular gift exchange if you want everyone to get something nice and save the white elephant for the white elephant gift exchange! If you want to pass some luck, try my gift exchange card game! It can be very funny to watch, especially if the person is reading the story and there are a lot of lefts and rights in the story!
What Is A Left Right Gift Exchange?
And when I tell a story, it can be a story or a poem or anything really. I chose poetry because I love poetry! If you like rhyming games, check out my current game walkthrough! Coming up with your own story can be fun too, but if you're doing it last minute or don't want to create your own awesome story, you can download one of mine below!
Both poems follow the same pattern - a story that tells the words left and right. The first one is more adult friendly as it is a woman during her day meeting with Mr. right. Another one is more kid-friendly as they follow Mickey Mouse and friends as they shop for Christmas presents.

Or suitable for all sizes and age groups, just choose the one that suits you best. This Christmas gift exchange poem is inspired by all the classic movies where girl meets mr. right. After watching all kinds of movies last week, this kind of story wrote itself.
Here's a little sneak peek! You can get the instant download at the end of this post! Another game is a story about Mickey Mouse and trying to get perfect gifts for his friends. If you love Disney, or you often play with children, this is the right story for you!
How Do You Play The Left Right Christmas Game?
Note that I said story - unlike above, this is a story, not a poem. It's still paid off, it just won't stop. If you want to have people bring their own instead of giving all the gifts for this game, it works really well with things like candy, Christmas decorations, or we even did it in a book for a class party one year.
I like to do the same things but different genres. To play the left and right Christmas game, everyone sits in a large circle and starts with wrapped presents. Then one reads a poem or a story in which the words "left" and "right" are repeated.
When the reader says left, everyone moves their gift to the left. When the reader speaks the truth, each person speaks with his own gift. When the story is over, everyone opens their gifts and keeps what they opened. If everyone is bringing their own gift to give for the holiday swap game, make sure everyone knows the theme and price range.

If you are giving gifts at all, I recommend that you give the same type of gift but different. For example, fuzzy socks, candy, mugs, or even board games. (If you need recommendations, here are the best board games for kids). If you're doing a Secret Santa gift exchange where people choose a gift for a specific person, I don't recommend this simple game.
