Our new timed booking system is designed to make your experience more enjoyable, reduce your waiting in line and ensure you have a parking space at the top. Guests will have a two hour window to arrive at the gate. Reservations are $2 per vehicle.
Reservations are non-refundable, but you can request to reschedule your reservation if there are spaces available. Purchase your one-day tickets online or at the gate, including admission to explore the North Slope Recreation Area. Online purchases of one-day tickets are valid for one year from the date of sale.
1. Reservations Are Required To Drive Your Personal Vehicle To The Summit From May 26 – September 30
Not valid for special event tickets. Entry tickets are required and can be purchased online with your scheduled entry reservation or you can purchase your entry ticket at the gate during admission. 2. Tickets
Motorway tickets, including adult, child and car tickets, are valid for one year from the date of purchase. There is a limited number of parking spaces at the summit and we may have more vehicles at the summit than we have available parking. We have introduced timed entry bookings to allow guests to secure a parking space within a two-hour block.
Arrive at Gateway within your two-hour window to drive your private vehicle to the summit. With the new Summit Visitor Center at the top of Pikes Peak, parking has become more of a challenge due to the increase in visitors wanting to drive to the summit.

Reservations are required between the Friday before Memorial Day (May 27, 2022) and the end of September 2022. We will open reservations for each month the previous month.

Upon re-entry, you must show your same-day receipt to the Gateway Ranger. However, you will not be able to return to the summit as your entry reservation has expired. We understand that plans can change, so the system allows an existing reservation to be replaced at no additional cost with another available date.
Ticket prices have not changed. Yes, you must make an online reservation before arriving at Gateway and purchase a ticket to get to the top. You can buy your ticket in advance online or on the portal. Same day bookings are allowed subject to availability.

No, a reservation is only required to drive your private vehicle to the top. Vehicles may drive to Devils Playground, mile 16 of the 19-mile highway, without a reservation. No, parking spaces at the summit are limited and to allow as many people as possible to experience the opportunity, we ask that guests limit their stay at the summit to less than 2 hours.
Visitors can ride the cog railway or take the shuttle if they want to spend more than 2 hours exploring. In 2022, we will run a free shuttle bus from Devils Playground, mile 16 of the 19-mile highway, to the summit during the months of June and July only.
No, children in child seats and pets are not allowed on the shuttle. Service animals are allowed on the shuttles. No, there are no refunds. If you need to make a change to your booking, you can change the day without penalty. You will receive an email with your ticket barcode and your transaction ID.
