Persona 5 Gift For Sojiro
Sojiro is a middle-aged man. He has black hair combed back, a receding hairline, gray eyes, a shaved chin and broad beard, and wears glasses. His usual outfit consists of a pale pink shirt with rolled up sleeves, pale khakis lifted by a white leather belt, and white loafers.
While he was working at Leblanc, he wore a black apron with a white stripe pattern and rolled up his trousers to the mid-calf. In her spare time, she wears a red, white, and blue striped hat and a two- and three-button white blazer. The third-semester winter outfit added to Persona 5 Royal consists of her usual attire, but a black fedora with her pants cuffs pulled all the way down, a double-breasted black jacket, a salmon pink scarf, and a crimson hat.
When Sojiro first meets the hero, he acts cold and harsh and reluctantly accepts him as a favor to a friend. Like many characters at the beginning of the story, she is wary of him due to probation, even saying that he won't do much if the protagonist gets in trouble, and threatens to fire him if he violates his test.
Persona 5 Royal[]
A somewhat cynical individual, he warns the protagonist that he must be careful who his friends are, and scolds him for meddling in other people's affairs even if he tries to do the right thing. However, Sojiro seems to have a soft spot for cats, as he immediately changed his mind about kicking Morgana out of the house after hearing her meow, claiming she was too cute.

He also made her eat something right away, despite claiming that it was the hero's responsibility to feed him. However, as the hero continues to live with him, Sojiro gradually builds trust in him and lets him go out at night, first in the neighborhood and then anywhere around Tokyo and even begins to teach him how to make Leblanc's signature coffee and curry.
Also, seeing that the protagonist isn't as guilty as he seems to have done on probation, he starts joking with the protagonist more. Eventually, Wakaba opens up to him about his past with Ishiki and his daughter Futaba, including why he inherited the latter after the former's death.
Sojiro is a very decent speaker who captivates women with his chosen words, stating that he was "quite a womanizer" in his youth. She suddenly likes Ann Takamaki, comments on her kindness and even asks if she has a boyfriend. Despite this, Sojiro never married and only loved one person: Wakaba.
Persona 5 Royal[]
Wakaba's "suicide" becomes one of her biggest regrets in life because she had jokingly warned him that she might die soon. It's also a reason why he adopted his daughter Futaba, even though he sees it as a selfish reason as it's just a way of redemption.
Despite his life as a resident, he lets him do so knowing that his mother's death bothers him and atones for doing everything even after Wakaba predicted that he would die soon. Sometimes she wonders if she really is the best person to raise her.

After helping the heroine Futaba leave the Sakura residence and learning that she was involved with the Ghost Thieves, she begins to defend the protagonist and supports her efforts due to their goal of eliminating Masayoshi Shido, a man responsible for Wakaba's death. When she discovers that the protagonist and Futaba (along with all her other friends) are part of the Ghost Thieves, she accepts and promises to keep their secret even though they were one of the most wanted people in Japan at that point.
This is largely due to the fact that Wakaba always suspected something else was behind his death, but kept his nose down because he had no real proof. Soujiro is a former government official in contact with the Wakaba Ishiki research center where he works.
Taking Back Reality[]
After Wakaba dies in an alleged suicide car accident, Soujiro takes Wakaba's daughter Futaba with him. He became particularly concerned with Futaba's safety and avoided approaching him because Wakaba had sent him an SOS message before the fatal accident. Soujiro quits his job to hide from Wakaba's potential enemies and becomes the owner of Lublin Café.
Through a client who knows the protagonist's family, Sojiro promises to take care of him as a favor during the protagonist's probationary period. He warns the protagonist not to get into trouble at school and not to get in any more trouble with the wrong people.
As legal guardian during his probation, he gives the hero the upper floor of Café Leblanc to live in for a year and gives him a diary to record his daily activities during his probation. When Yusuke Kitagawa specifically asked him what the real motive was for the main character, he admitted that he saw the younger version of him in the protagonist.

Initially, Sojiro was neither aware nor interested in stealing the Ghost Heart Thieves until Futaba got involved. Prosecutor Sae Niijima asked him about Futaba while he was trying to investigate Wakaba. Soujiro refuses to answer his questions, including allowing him to meet with Futaba until he threatens to revoke his custody rights over Futaba.
Taking Back Reality[]
Having received a request from Futaba under a pseudonym, the hero tries to ask Sojiro about him as well, but Sojiro also refuses to say anything and tells him to focus on school. After the hero and his friends break into Sojiro's house to give him sushi as a way of talking to Futaba, he is forced to explain Futaba's existence to them and tell him to kick him out of their job.
After Futaba's heart heals and his palace disappears, Soujiro is surprised and pleased that Futaba finally leaves his room and reconnects with the hero and his friends. However, Futaba's sudden change causes Sojiro to suspect that his heart has been stolen by the Ghost Thieves.
His suspicions are finally confirmed when he finds it in his room while cleaning Futaba's calling card. When he learns that the hero is not only the Ghost Thief, but also their leader, he immediately confronts the hero and Futaba about the calling card. She is initially enraged by this revelation, but Futaba calms Soujiro and explains that the protagonist saved her and that this is ultimately the reason why she is out and is no longer bothered by her mother.
Sojiro then explains the truth about his past and how he realized that the thieves' methods had some similarities with the details of Wakaba's investigation. Desiring to find Futaba's mother's murderer, Soujiro quickly rejects the idea. But seeing how determined both Futaba and the protagonist are, Sojiro promises to keep their secrets and allow them to continue their activities on the condition that they stop acting like Ghost Thieves if it becomes too dangerous.
