Pastor Appreciation Gift Basket Ideas
Whether you're in a church of 10 or 100, evaluating your pastor is easier than you think. There is no reason to stress or feel overwhelmed by searching the internet for dozens of ideas that may not work for your small church. These 11 ideas are perfect for any size meeting.
Pick one, or pick them all and spread them out over a month or year. Pastors have a tough job and are in a more difficult position than most people realize. Many in the congregation don't understand the pressures placed on pastors—in fact, some think your pastor only works one day a week!
Celebrating Pastor's Day gives everyone an opportunity to share their love and gratitude. This will give your pastor the push he needs to keep going and take on the next challenge. The second Sunday in October is recognized as Pastor Appreciation Day, but you can celebrate your pastor on any holiday, birthday or year!

Spreading the word (maybe even secretly!) to your congregation will increase engagement and excitement! Instead of encouraging people to just send a card, make it super easy by giving everyone an advance and having the card delivered right away. Start at the beginning of the month for better results!
Place an empty basket, as well as a small stack of thank you notes and envelopes, on a table in your church hall. Book bundles are very cheap. Dollar stores sell them in packs of 6 or 8 for $1. Encourage members of your congregation to take a card, thank your pastor, and then return it to the basket.
Give your pastor a basket full of books on the last Sunday of the month. There are no months to print a 31-day calendar (or draw on the board). Ask congregation members to commit to praying for the pastor and his family once a month.

Prioritize the dates people have committed to praying for your pastor; I can choose more than one day if I want. Present your calendar to your pastor and let him know your congregation cares and prays for him. (Hopefully at least one person each prays.) Introduce this to your pastor during the church service.
Place these items in a small box with the following instructions: Encourage congregation members to bring future meals for the pastor and his family. Offers include restaurant gift cards, pre-made frozen meals, or baskets filled with everything you need to make dinner (boxes of pasta, jars of sauces, vegetables, boxes of cookies, cookies, brownies, and apple cider).

Small live trees, fake trees, or multi-branched trees should be "planted" in buckets of sand or stone. Ask conference members to bring any type of gift card, even a $5 coffee card or hamburger card. Attach them to the "tree" with mini clips or paper clips.
Keep it as a secret or to add gift cards to people at your church reception. Give people 2 or 3 weeks to bring their cards. Then present it to your pastor during the church service. (A special note about gift cards: Some people think a $5 gift card is worth less. Tell them that if 4 people each buy a $5 gift card, it's worth $20. Gift cards of any value are appreciated.) or you can bring a gift, but it is not necessary. Give awards to the best smile, funniest joke, best sermon, best dressed pastor, etc. ALL prizes go to the pastor! Be creative and come up with any cool or cool award about your pastor.
Award of certificates, trophies, medals or awards for each category. Ask a youth group, men's group, or other group to create a coupon for a themed work day, such as a "pastor's outdoor work day," to work in the yard, trim bushes, or take walks.
Handmade books from KidsChurch, youth groups, other ministries, or families at your church will always mean a lot! Create an "All About" basket filled with your pastor's favorite things: favorite candy, favorite cookies, favorite snacks, wall art with favorite Bible verses, items to support his hobbies (guitar picks, fishing lures, book marks, golf balls, etc.), his

bags of their favorite brand of coffee, or gift cards to their favorite restaurants or coffee shops. Schedule church members so that at least one person sends a card to the pastor each day of the month. Do not limit the card; If the family wants to send a weekly card or a daily card, welcome to the idea!
