About Us
OUR SHOPPING STORY The Pasadena story began on South Lake Avenue when a group of fair trade advocates decided to open Ten Thousand Country Stores in the beautiful city of Pasadena, California. A volunteer nonprofit board was formed and the store opened in June 2006 on South Lake Avenue next to Magnolia House.

In 2009 we moved across the street to a larger area, a more central location with two entrances and a lot with 2 hours free parking. In July 2021, we celebrated 15 years of providing ethically handcrafted gifts to the world, fair trade education from around the world for local events and festivals, and the larger community of Pasadena and Los Angeles.
We offer: - Profitable Shopping Days - Community shopping events benefiting local organizations - Outdoor and online order collections - Fair trade presentations for all ages - A small free library in front of our store (Lake Avenue entrance) - Workshops and open events (in person and online) - Monthly Gas Station - Annual Carpet Event VOLUNTEER WITH US The success of Ten Thousand Villages depends largely on the dedication and passion of its volunteers.
Volunteers are important to our business and our business. As Fair Trade Ambassadors, volunteers help strengthen our mission by spreading the word about Fair Trade in store and throughout the community. This is a rewarding and fulfilling volunteer experience as you will transform the lives of over 20,000 artists and their families.

Craft Fair Gift Shop is a thoughtful gift shop known for its wide range of beautiful and unique handcrafted products. Everything sold in our gift shop has been carefully designed by men and women over 50.
By shopping at a craft fair you are helping to fund our great exhibits and showing your appreciation for the trade or art. So if you are looking for a unique baby gift, birthday gift, thank you card or decoration to "groom" your home, be sure to visit us!
