Their prices are great and they loved making crates full of the fresh fish of the day! Yum! Yum! Great prices, great selection and fresher than fresh fish! It doesn't get any better than that! Yak Arts is a family owned and operated destination that showcases an eclectic collection of treasures on over 3,000 square feet.

The business has been offering curios, fine art, jewelry and furniture to customers on the Cape for more than 20 years. For us, 'Yak Arts is more than just a retail space, it's a lifestyle'. The current location is a building that can be identified as the Yellow House of Orleans.
Built in the mid-1850s, it has a long history as a family home and property. As owners, we continue this tradition by living on site but also working here. The youngest daughter Heather spent most of her childhood growing up in this house. With our family mentality, you can expect to see one of the owners in the store every day.

In addition to the fact that we invite you into our home, our selection of products is taken very personally. To maintain our extensive collection, we travel primarily to Asia and Europe, each item in our store is carefully selected from one of our adventures.
Traveling alone and importing direct from the artist, there is no purer form of fair trade. This allows us to get to know our product and our people. This means that there is a story behind it, we know the craftsmen who made the object, the materials that went into it or the history of antiquity and where it was taken.
So stop by and explore - we're open all year round! We have been going to Yak Arts every year for the past 10 years during our annual visit to the Cape. Run, don't walk to get here, especially if you have curious and adventurous teenagers and young adults in your group.

We and our kids (now older kids) love walking through the many rooms of this quaint shop and over the years have bought antique jewelry, silverware, as well as artwork and a little kitsch (just for fun). On our last trip we had fun with baskets of small hand-held musical instruments made in Indonesia.
