What I have noticed though is... GHC's nightly rates are very high, much higher than what I have gotten through Orbitz.com or other sites like Apple Vacations, etc. Does anyone have experience with this? I want to make the most of my winnings. Does anyone know if they will match prices elsewhere?
Or is there a coupon code or something that can help offset the amount? I found some information about signing up for ORewards to earn $25, which I plan to do, and having my husband earn an extra $50 to pay for it. I know it's not much, but anything helps.
Just take a quick look at their terms and conditions and FAQ - here: As mentioned, it looks pretty typical and restrictive. I suspect you have to follow their rules/terms strictly. It probably doesn't hurt to ask what you want or a match, but I expect them to say no.

I'm thinking I can book 1-2 nights to use up the amount there and pay for the rest (ie 5 days, return flight and travel agent transport) using a Visa card and our personal funds, we can I think , pay for these people order packages to get more benefits.
We are going to a meeting with a travel agency this weekend and hope they will shed light on this. I tried to book a room, selected my room and got to the "confirm" button, it said my reservation could not be confirmed. I called the global hotel card contact number, you can't talk to a real person.
I emailed them about the problem and they said my emails were blocked for security reasons, but they unblocked and tried again. I went to order online again and it said my gift card code had been used. Meanwhile, while they wait for them to fix it, the rooms are sold out.

super frustrating! In my experience, things like this are hard to take advantage of because of the terms and conditions. I find them pretty useless, but if you win, at least you don't pay any money and you don't lose anything if you don't use them.
As BK and RB briefly pointed out, unfortunately the card does not offer much and is very unaffordable. In fact, I'd even go so far as to say it's a pretty bad product from start to finish. Some obvious and direct indications: 1. The product is heavily advertised as "Powered by Orbitz".

This is extremely misleading as consumers believe it is an Orbtiz product. It is not. Orbitz only helps with the back end of their very limited hotel product, but the card cannot be used on the Orbitz website. 2. They offer "over 100,000 hotels" - sounds good right?
Until you realize that there are less than 1/5 of the registered accommodation providers worldwide. Global? hardly. 4. In addition to any other rules imposed by the hotel, advance payment is not refunded. 5. They are actually more of a trading platform than a typical OTA.

When I finally managed to get the "supervisor" to call me (because you can't speak to a human when you call their customer service number), I asked him why you couldn't speak to a human when you called.
He said, "What do you need, we have a couple of other things going on right now." Really? Shouldn't the client on the phone be your number one priority, rather than the person you're anxious to hang up on because you don't want to discuss the shortcomings of your "business"?
I have won some on Deal Dash but they are practically useless. When I travel, I browse reviews and take my time to find the best deals. I had the same problem, they didn't get etc. After booking my room to get rid of them, my out of pocket was more than the cost of the card as Trivago.

Never bid on these cards again! Their search provider has been replaced by Expedia and prices are now more affordable. The search has also been improved. This can be a big game changer, especially if the listings are based on Expedia and the prices are similar to publicly advertised prices.
