Are gift cards a bargain or too good to be true? Good Morning Show viewer Joanne Mendoza posted on Facebook that she received a set of gift cards in the mail. They go to different baby clothing companies, they sell everything from nursing covers to nursing pillows.
Mendoza said she tried using one card, but the amount didn't cover the shipping cost, so she had to use her credit card for the remaining balance. "Is the gift card just a scam to get your information?" she thought. Good Morning Show host and mom-to-be Meghann Mollerus received the same set of gift cards through a purchase at a local maternity store.
To verify, she contacted gift card company Nursing Pillow and then looked up information through the Better Business Bureau. The live chat option on the nurse pad was not successful as there was no agent to talk to. On the customer service phone line, an employee named Kenley explained that the gift card set was legitimate and that a customer could apply it to a purchase.

But, yes, the gift card does not cover shipping costs, so the customer must include a credit card. Shipping can be over $10. Kenley explained that all the companies in the nursing pillow and gift card game are sister companies. Their parent company is Mothers Lounge, LLC.
The BBB states that Mothers Lounge is not BBB accredited and has an F rating because the BBB found errors in advertising and failed to respond to at least eight customer complaints. Several customers complained that they received cards in the mail that appeared to be handwritten cards from "Jen" with no return address.
Others have complained about product quality and hidden fees. On the BBB website, Mothers Lounge responded to some of the complaints, stating that there are no hidden fees and additional discounts are offered. The gift card kit is legit, but the customer has to pay for shipping, which can be expensive.
So, although it can be misleading, the gift card game doesn't look like a scam. Do you have a VERIFY request? However, I decided to test if any of these cards actually work. Despite listing "free shipping" on one of these sites, I was unable to pay with a free shipping option. The shipping cost for an item I selected was insane. So I researched these companies.
It turned out that their victims never received their orders or received goods that looked very different from what was promised. The most disgusting thing is that these scammers target pregnant women and parents. It's like, "We'll give you $35 to buy a hat for your child, and you'll pay between $13 and $20 for shipping."

Poor parents pay to give their kids a present but never see the hats.. I used woven and personalized pacifiers. I received both orders and looked as promised. I used boppy pillow, cover, car seat cover, shoes and snack holder. Everything I got and what they said it looks like.
I planned to use the weave and personalized pacifiers, put my daughter's name on them and send them to daycare for her. Shipping was a bit high, I think $12 each, but I received everything on time and as I expected. I got the eskimo kids hat and paid £12 for shipping.
They target pregnant women because they aren't really "free" with shipping height. I used the canopy and pacifier coupons and got everything as promised. I agree that the shipping price is high. I got them from my doctor's office. I looked them up and their websites are similar, different products.
So I thought it was too suspicious and the shipping charges were too high. I have never used it. Yes, I agree. They claim it's free, but the shipping cost is too high in my opinion. I used the car seat canopy and got it.
I agree that shipping costs are high. I wouldn't order it without the coupon! I have used several and have received everything I ordered. Yes, shipping costs are high, but if you think about the number of similar items sold on Amazon, it's always cheaper.

It's about how you look at it. It's pretty much the same with Shutterfly, I usually only order something if the actual item is free because the shipping costs are so high. I have used them before and was satisfied with everything. I also received all my items.
I mean shipping is only $12.99 and that's not paid when you get a free item. The boppy pillow was a problem for me as it was a size smaller than I expected. But my LO uses it all the time because it's perfect for its size.
