Nature's Gift Menu
I love swimming in the river, playing with my puppy, exploring on my scooter and talking to the locals, visiting amazing beaches, walking the resort grounds and looking at all the trees and flowers. The owner Sam is really friendly and likes to meet and chat with guests, the host Alice is very warm and welcoming, nice people to know.
The kitchen and cleaning staff are very nice. Oh, the food. It's more expensive for people who are used to traveling to Indonesia and eating local food, but it doesn't matter if you don't have the budget to eat at a restaurant there. But if you have the money, the food is great.
Breakfast is included in the price and the French toast is delicious! Side note – the wifi was down for a few days due to technical issues and the owner lent me his 3G iPad until it was fixed. . Definitely above and beyond service!

More Sam the owner is incredibly friendly and helpful, knows exactly what the locals are up to and can help with questions or problems. It was my boyfriend's birthday and he went out of his way to get a birthday cake and make sure we had plenty of birthday beer in stock!

He also knows all the ferry times etc and will help you plan your stay. The accommodation is clean and smart, the food is great and the portions are huge! Great staff, very accommodating. It is also home to Aceh kitecamp, run by Regis, who is an amazing instructor.
As a beginner, they are very careful and level and speedy, safety is a priority and I feel comfortable even when the conditions are not good (but almost everything is perfect!). They rent equipment as well as private and group lessons http://www.aceh-kitecamp.com/ you can also rent scooters around the area.
A tip for ladies, stay covered outside the resort as it is a religious area. What a wonderful oasis Sam and his team have created. They built a simple and beautiful resort on a huge plot of land. We stayed in a bungalow at the back of the property with a double bedroom with air conditioning, a kitchenette, a partially open bathroom, a living room and a private terrace with a hammock.

for four nights. The wind was there most of the day and we also kayaked on the river. On motorbikes we explore beautiful beaches and coastal roads. The trip was a surprise and wonderful gift from my husband for my birthday. Alice and her team excel in management and cuisine and are experienced and professional at the Regis Aquatics Centre.
I stayed for more than a week in April, great place, great people, food, everything sorted for me, bike rental, surf beach nearby, great, I have a week of surfing, just me relaxing in the water and hammock perfect back waves to get. I came back in August, we stayed here for 5 nights for kites and surf...unfortunately we have no wind, but the Surf is really amazing.

Mr Sam, the owner of the resort, made us feel at home and Alice was really helpful and welcoming and cooked us a delicious meal on our last night. The resort is in a great location by the river, but you need to rent a motorbike to get around.
We also rented kayaks and paddled down the river to a beautiful clear body of water. Ceumarada Ratcha (local guide) is friendly and not like a surfing buddy. Although we didn't get the extra blanket, we will definitely be back... hehe, I stayed at Lhoknga Riverside Resort for 4 nights in early September 2014 after hearing positive comments from colleagues I met while traveling around Sumatra.

The place has a spacious, beautiful garden, riverside and close to the beach. The bungalows are nice, clean and the place is well maintained. There is a charter school run by the friendly French from this location. Surfing is also available - if you don't have one, boards can be rented here.
The best thing about this place is the owner, Sam. One of the nicest and most helpful guys I've met on my travels and he also speaks English very well. On my way back from Pulau Way I had to make a new plan because my original plan to go to Simeulue didn't work out.
Everyone helps to organize the best alternative. I have to thank you again for this and can recommend this place to anyone traveling through north Sumatra. Whether you want to do some (kite) surfing or just relax and ride around on your scooter, this is the place to go.
