I figured it out myself - MovieTickets.com and Fandango have vague and incorrect redemption instructions. I received a gift card from a family member who bought 4 Sam's Club gift cards 2 years ago and when I tried to redeem one of them I got an error saying the code has expired on movietickets.com.
All 4 cards say so. The phone number is now out of date and call fandango is not helpful. What a delusion. You lowlifes should be ashamed of yourself for selling movie gift cards and they don't work and customer service won't help, SHAME I just tried the above recommendation too.
He also told me it was void and we had $125 in gift cards. It is ridiculous and unscrupulous. My husband bought me two movietickets.com gift cards from Walgreens in December for Christmas. They are worthless! To use them, you must register through the website.

I immediately contacted MovieTickets.com via email and they received an automated response that they would not issue a refund. So I explained the situation again and informed them that it was a computer glitch. I was told there would be no refund. I reached out multiple times and let it hang for what felt like an eternity.
I will never use this ticketing service again. it was a $30 learning experience. After waiting over 20 minutes to speak to a customer service representative, the person I connected with was VERY rude. Not only did they listen to what I was saying (misheard, put words in my mouth, etc.), but when I asked to speak to the manager about their rude behavior, they hung up on ME.
It was one of the worst interactions I've ever had... I accidentally picked the wrong date for today instead of tomorrow when I was buying tickets for visiting family to go to the movies together. I immediately realized my mistake when I received the confirmation email and called movietickets.com within 10 minutes of purchasing.

The customer service representative's response was "Read the return policy in the confirmation email." In other words: bad luck. Wow, she looked unhappy in her job. I then called the theater and the customer service representative said he could exchange the tickets if I came in person before the movie started.
Unfortunately the movie starts in 30 minutes and I live an hour away. He added that he believed all online ticketing companies offered refund policies for these situations, so I should contact them again. NO. Not Movietickets.com. So much for obsessing over the customer. At least I have a chance to express my frustration with my wallet.
From now on, its Fandango or any service other than MovieTickets.com. I made a mistake and bought the wrong ticket and am trying to get a refund. I called the number which immediately referred me to customerservice@movietickets.com. I got one response saying they sent my request to the correct department and got no response.
Who else should I try? I ordered 3 tickets online. I have a loyalty card that waives the convenience fee when ordering tickets, on this particular day it didn't work so I emailed customer support, got a reply from D. Dyer "sorry for the inconvenience" no mention of a fee or refund from Dyer.

Every time I try to buy tickets online (how about allowing the use of gift cards purchased at Costco at the box office?), the website either won't load (Error 504) or loads and then crashes before I can buy tickets.
