Mother's Day Gift Tag

Consider making a jar full of fun surprises for mom or grandma. Just like a gift basket, you can fill it with special things she'll enjoy to say Happy Mother's Day—plus, we even have free Mother's Day printables for her. Gift tag for you! You can make baskets/jars for all the special mothers in your life.

Long after the contents are used, mom can use the beautiful storage jars all year round! My favorite bottles for making this type of gift are the Anchor Hocking Heritage bottles from Walmart. They are well made, affordable, and very convenient to use at home.

The large 2 liter bottles are only $14 in the store, and there are other small and medium sizes like the smaller 1/2 liter that are also pictured (about $6 in my store). Hip Tip: HomeGoods and Target are also good places to check out the jars, as well as the Dollar Tree (small gifts for mason jars).

You can also repurpose a cute container you have around the house, or check out your local thrift store. It's also worth noting that these tags would make a cute gift or can be used as tags for any other gift you're planning for Mother's Day! Print the gift tags on card stock and punch a hole near the top of the tag you plan to use.

Secure the label with tape around the top of the container. I filled one container full of fun ways for mom to pamper herself, like different beauty and relaxation things and things I know she'll enjoy! Another bottle has summer essentials like beach towels, sunglasses, flip flops and sunglasses.

Finally, the last container has a selection of beautiful nails and the best manicure equipment. I used gift basket filler in the bottom of each jar, but that's totally optional. Very interesting, I personally use Impress Nails all the time and love them. I love that you can customize this gift for mom at so many different prices depending on your budget. I would also consider adding something inexpensive like a photo of the kids, a small custom photo or photo magnets.

Or even write the reasons you love your mom/grandma on letters, like we did with these cute DIY jars! Lina Thx. This is a very cute idea and you have great DIY ideas. Also super easy..keep up the good work God bless you. I love this idea! Unfortunately, some people do not have the same mindset and passion to save money and budget. I learned this the hard way.

I have a family member who doesn't like it when I buy her discounted gifts or buy tickets at the dollar store (I really don't know how to tell this) it takes the fun out of giving her. I guess she doesn't think I like her unless I pay full price stop buying her.

About The Writer:

She will no longer be on the gift list. I'm sorry this is happening to you. I feel the same way about some of my family members. I may have a reputation for being the odd cockatoo at this point, but I'll ignore it. I still go out of my way to think of them and buy them a gift that I think they will like.

How much I pay shouldn't matter. Oh hell! it's a shame. I love simple and thoughtful gifts and dollar tree cards are a cute trend these days! Dennis, you might not get that family member for a year and see how much they love getting nothing.

That sounds like teenage behavior! As a poor H2S devotee myself, my friends/family understood that please don't get me anything as opposed to something I would never use (except as a goodwill gesture) and put the money they would have paid me into retirement accounts.

After almost 27 years of marriage, even my wife understands, please don't get me anything - I just want time for you. And my kids, they both know too, please don't bring me presents... put that money in your retirement account. So I don't consider myself a heretic - just practical and real.

Too many people don't know what they have/don't have financially. Log into your National Insurance account and see how much money you won't receive each month. Too many people feel that SS should support/continue you in retirement - news flash. SS was never intended to be a "supplement" to retirement.

Don't take away from this post, these are great ideas, but also know your recipient. I think it's a personal choice. Some of my friends don't really care about getting a gift. They really appreciate being thought of in a card or note. I try to listen to what people like, need or want so that I can give them a relevant gift.

I stopped expecting the same value to buy what I wanted. I mean, I won't sound ungrateful, I appreciate that you think of me. But buying too few clothes because they were on sale or in someone's book I don't like doesn't even make me special.

I have family that is the opposite... I complain that I spent too much and they accuse me of lying if I say less than $10 the results are the same I feel like it takes away from the thought I put into thinking they would want it.
